Tubal Ligation Question!!!

I am newly pregnant with our third child and I don't want anymore after this.......I am seriously thinking about getting my tubes tied so I don't have to worry about it, but my other half thinks that it will totally screw up my hormones and make me crazy!  Is this true??  Thanks for any input!

P.S.  I did read that you still menstruate and release eggs so I don't see how it would make my hormones out of whack....

My doctor said it's actually the least effective on hormones than other birth control.  It can cause a change but usual not a big one.   Definitely discuss with your doc.  I am opting for a tubal instead of IUD or pills or any of the more common methods.  I am on number five between my DF and I so I am also done!!

I had a tubal ligation and I did not notice that it messed up my hormones, but a couple of years later, I did have to have a hysterectomy (only took my uterus/cervix), due to bleeding approx 20 days per month.  Not sure if that bleeding started happening BECAUSE of the tubal or not.

I'm getting tubal ligation no matter what after I have my baby in October. My friend got tubal ligation and she said it hurt a little in the begining but that she hasn't notice any change.

Thanks sooo much you all for getting back to me!  I didn't get to check until just now and that really helps a lot!  I will definitely have to check with my doctor about it and make a decision:)

rach789:  I think it can cost quite a bit for a reversal and they can't even gaurantee it will work:(  I just read on a website it can cost anywhere from $3,500 - $10,000 depending on where you live........
