UTI help?

I contracted a UTI while I've been pregnant. I'll only be 8 weeks tomorrow. I decided to take urinary pain relief from the store to help since it was the weekend and I didn't want to go to the ER. Well being a new mother I had no idea I wasn't allowed to take certain medications. I only took the pills twice. Now I'm scared that I hurt my baby... does anyone else know if I'm okay? Also I'd it safe to take Nitrofurtoin for a UTI?

Just don't take medication again without being told by your dr it's ok to take... what you can do is go to the store, get cranberry vitamines,  hight milligram, i normally get 1000mg cranberry vitamines,  and cranberry juice, 100% natural. And take the vitamines twice a day and drink your juice and plenty of water. You'll be cleared up in no time.
I don't take pills unless I absolutely have to, but when I get uti I take vitamines and drink juice and water, also pineapple juice is good too. Buy both... This has always worked for me.

Your doctor will give you amoxicillin. It is safe for you to take during pregnancy. You should never take anything without consulting your doctor first. I would call your doctor asap and let him/her know that you took something over the counter.

I had a previous UTI way before I was pregnant and they prescribed me Nitrofurtoin. And I had some left over so I took them to relieve the pain. I was just nervous about hurting the baby from taking those.

Unfortunately when you take medicine without dr consent you have to tell them.
Uti's are very serious during pregnancy, they can turn very bad very quick into a kidney infection and cause complications.
We do not know your medical history or anything important about your pregnancy, only your Dr can tell you if your baby is ok after taking over the counter medicine.
Any infection needs to be treated with anti biotics given to you by your dr.
If you go to the er they treat you same day, quick and easy.
Call your dr and ask about the medicine you already took, no two pregnancies are the same, so unfortunately one person can take it and be ok but another one can take It and cause problems.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm very prone to UTI and I took the medicine thinking it would be fine. It did go away.. now I'm just completely nervous about tomorrow appointment. I'm just a new mother and I'm still learning what I can and can't eat. Just a nervous wreck knowing I possibly did myself damage when I thought I was helping myself.

I would get the antibiotics from my dr. A uti can turn into a kidney infection literally in a flash and those can become a bloodstream infection that can terminate your pregnancy. I didnt know that til one hit me out of the blue.
