Uhhh...milky-colored liquid coming from nipple!

What is this? It was coming out of only one nipple...not areola, my actual nipple!! I've never seen this before, normally if I squeeze the bumps on my areola I'll see pus-like stuff (sorry TMI) but this was coming out of my nipple and was like beige-colored (i'd say watery milk looking).
Any ideas?

This was my first sign of pregnancy - could you be pregnant? Perhaps you will not be getting and AF this month :)  Do you have other children or have you recently breast fed?

i think it's a hormonal reaction. it's not an early pregnancy symptom, it happens in late pregnancy that

i had the same thing coming from my right breast. except it was a little greenish. but it aches all the time & i'm not pregnant either. it's been happening since last October. i went to the doctor but she tried to say it was from me stopping my birth control but its started when i still was taking it & it still does it now & i've been off my birth control since the end of September.

I have been having the same thing happening to me. It happened today, and that's what made me look it up. I'm was curious to know if I was pregnant, or if it was caused by something else. Sometimes it is clear, but this morning, i just squeezed it a little bit (barely) and mily clear stuff came out of my nipple. I'm away out of the country untill the middle of september, so i was hoping somebody would know what it is, and if i could possibly be pregnant.

I actually was going to jump on here to say the same thing.....if you are not pregnant, leaking from the breasts is not really a "normal" thing....Esp. with you mentioning you had something scabby on your nipple as well, those are 2 things that are not really completely normal.....it is probably nothing, but it def. warrants a question to your doctor.  Again, I am not trying to scare you, but it is better to be safe.  Every time I have went for my yearly check-ups with my GYN, before the breast exam, they always ask me if I have had any unexplained discharge from the nipple...just for safety sake I would bring it up to ur dr.

read the replies above MPM....not being rude, but i know nothing about breasts till i read this post lol....apparently some leaking is ok as one poster mentioned....

not to freak anyone out, but on 1 site, it does mention if no pregnancy is detected, leakage can be a blocked milk duct.....or ummmmm.....an early sign of breast cancer

but that same site does say it is very possible to have leakage VERY early in pregnancy....

hmm...interesting. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't really playing with them when it happened...was testing for soreness as pregnancy symptoms b/c while sleeping they appeared to be sore (nipples) but upon awakening I dind't notice anymore so i though i'd check. Interestingly...my right nipple isn't sore but below the nipple (as if underneath it) it is sore!

Thanks for the advice!

Squeezing or playing with your nipples even when not pregnant stimulates production of colostrum so avoid playing with them.

My mum noticed leaking when she was in her early 30s and leaked colostrum (even through clothes) for no apparent reason.

UPDATE:::: it just did it again. Two places now on my right nipple (when i squeezed )leaked discharge and on my left, one place did...although it was less and more clear in color...
anyone experienced this before w/out being pregnant OR as a sign of EARLY pregnancy?
I"m not taking any hormones (synthetic) but do take natural progesterone cream (on skin)

Well...intersting conversation!
msgorgeous.....i'm not talking about the bumps around my nipples (areola) I'm talking about my actual NIPPLE. :)

I remembered last night that about 1 1/2 weeks ago I had this crusty stuff on the same nipple (right) that was like dried glue. It had no color but it felt like a scab and i had to scratch it off. I totally forgot all about it until last night.
Its only my right nipple....which only concerns me b/c recently (last month or so) i've noticed that this nipple turns purple if not cold/stimulated, etc.... The other nipple (left) stays normal looking. The right isn't ALWAYS purple, just frequently enough that I see it and touch it to make sure it goes back to pink. I was assuming that this was just b/c somehow it was cold but now....why wouldn't the other one be the same? And the fact that this is the same nipple that had the crusty stuff and actual invoked discharge yesterday... hmmmmm......

Most women dont realize that their milk ducts are supposed to drain, even tiny amounts.  Usually, especially if you've never been pregnant, it's not even enough to notice.  If they DIDN'T drain you could get a clogged duct and that hurts like hell...my moms been through several due to an inverted nipple that won't allow for drainage.  As I said before, as long as it's not discolored (like green or yellow) and doesn't have a foul odor and there is no pain I think you're fine :)
