Ultrasound dates.

I had an ultrasound to confirm due dates and found that I was 6w 3d. There was a very clear heart beat at this ultrasound. At 9w 2d I had some light bleeding and was sent for u/s to confirm everything was ok. Thankfully everything was perfect. However I was measured again and showed to be measuring 10w 1d. There is six days difference between the dates. Same u/s tech, same machine.

6 days out this early in pregnancy would be a little uncommon as early scans are supposed to be very accurate. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any stories about u/s dates being out. Neither were vaginal scans.

Ultrasounds can measure at least a week off either way. Sometimes a bit more. I was measuring a week behind all of mine, so I just readjusted my dates to fit the scan and it worked. Even early some babies grow at a little faster rates than others.

I had my 12w  ultrasound last week. It confirmed that the second ultrasound date was accurate.

I agree, go with the earlier one.  All babies grow at different rates.  It's not uncommon for an ultrasound to be off a week or so either way.  Besides, due date calculation is not an exact science.  I've always gone by my first ultrasound date.

My doctors with both of my kids gave me u/s dates that were sooner than the lmp dates.  I ended up having my son waaay after the u/s date on the 20th (I had to be induced), the u/s date was the 8th and the lmp date was the 10th.
The u/s date for my daughter was the 3rd, the lmp date was the 8th and I was sure of the conception date.  She was born on the 8th.

Trust the 6 w 3 d ultrasound over the later one(s).  Babies do grow at different rates.
