That's normal. Be thankful ur not a high risk. I am, I getting u/s every week & NST.
Not so cool although I love watching my bby in the monitor but still that's y they do it to monitor him. If u want to do u/s u can try the 4D u'll enjoy it the best is at least 20 weeks have fun!:)

They can indeed - some doctors like to play it cautious while others are not so hesitant. A commonly shared idea is less is better. Many reputable facilities (such as the Mayo clinic) have said that ultrasound and such are completely safe and do not cause harm.

Doppler and ultrasound both use high frequency sound waves to create an image or sound that is then picked up on the machine. I believe the only concerning ultrasounds now are 3D and 4D, and they should be limited in the frequency done.

As always, your doctor would be the best judge as to what is safe and what is not.

Every ob can advise different things. My ob and midwife have always told me to use a Doppler and an u/s as little as possible.

Its not that they aren't safe but studies still show that too much use of ultrasounds and use of a Doppler want to be avoided if possible . My obgyn has always told me to not use a Doppler at home. Its hard to explain why but that's what I've been told with all 3 pregnancies. Think about how the sound travels and how the picture picks up on the monitor.

The only reason I had a lot of ultrasounds was because I was carrying twins and considered high risk. I had one done once a month until I was 26-28 weeks then I had one every week until they were born.

But a lot of my friends with singletons had them very rarely.

Multiple ultrasounds do not present a problem to the child. The only time it is dangerous is if it is left in the same spot for an obscene amount of time.

As the others have stated, unless you have multiple issues it's very normal to only have 1 or 2 ultrasounds. Average is no more than 3. I had 5, and all mine were to make sure nothing was wrong.

I'm 24 weeks now and have had one at 9,11,16, and 21 weeks. I guess it depends on the doc?

I'm told I've had alot, I'm at like 4 maybe 5 now. but I'm not high risk. I think it was just the Specialist office that I was at, they check everything before they send you back to your OB.     most people only have 2-3 their entire pregnancy so its completely normal.

While seeing your baby is nice be glad you don't need them often since usually they are done when problems may be present. I have multiple u/s and it's nerve wracking.

That's normal. Too many ultrasounds aren't safe. It goes by fast. 20 weeks will be here before you know it!
