Unsure && Uninformed

Okay, so here's the deal... today's date is December 16, 2009. I have not had my period since August 30 to about September 6, 2009. && my period was late in August. I am/was on Vyvanse 60mg for Inattentive ADHD and this medication severely decreased my appetite, as well as any other stimulant will, and my weight has severely dropped from the medication. I was about 105lbs and the lowest weight that I've been at since was about 94lbs. I have noticed that I am extremely fatigued, I will "nap" from about 4:30pm-8:30pm, then go home and go back to sleep at about 9:00pm-about 6:00am, waking up for school just as drowsy as if I hadn't slept at all. I have had some vaginal discharge throughout the months, barely any signs of receiving my period, and I have taken pregnancy tests and they've all been negative. I have not taken one in about two months or a month and a half and my mom recently said she is getting really worried that either I have something wrong with my thyroid, I'm depressed, or I'm pregnant. I have been pretty stressed with work, school, relationship ups and downs, and worrying about pregnancy. The Vyvanse that I take also causes me to become severely nauseous right after I take it ( when it's kicking in ) and if I miss a dose, I get severely sick to my stomach to the point that I do not want to do anything, but lay down. I am unsure of what to do. I do not want to go to the doctor/hospital because I am afraid of getting a blood test and then it will show that I have THC in my system, I am 18, just turned 18 and my mom is very strict. I need help, lots of it. Please message me if you can give me accurate advice.

I agree with motherof1boy. I'm sorry I didn't see in your original post where you said you had smoked marijuana, all I saw was the comment about the other med. Anyway yeah I don't think they'll check you for drugs unless you go in obviously looking high or whatnot. Unfortunately if you are pregnant, chances are you will end up getting a drug test somewhere down the line and it stays in your system for awhile.....so you need to stop NOW and let your system clear up. You need to go and be seen, regardless of what your mother might think. Just tell her that you're worried about your thyroid maybe, and then when it's just you and the doctor confess your true concerns...by law they have to respect your privacy.

the blood test they do to check for pregnancy has nothing to do with drugs. They don't even look if its a quantitative HCG.

take another at home pregnancy test. If you are pregnant you better find out and stop using drugs!

Thank you so much. I am worried about the THC showing up in my system if a blood test is needed to be taken because of the fact that it's not legal where I live and I definitely do not have a prescription for medicinal marijuana. My mother would be the one taking me to the doctor and if she found out that I have traces of marijuana in my system, thats never good. I am 18 and am a senior in high school, I still live at home, so yeah. My mom has said that she's noticed that I haven't had my period since late August and she keeps asking if I am pregnant, she also over the summer just found out that me and my boyfriend are sexually active, we do not have a close relationship. It is a very uncomfortable environment being around my mom, let alone having to talk to her about sex, missing my period for various unknown reasons, and etc. I know that they won't test for drugs unless there is a reason to, but a couple of people I know that have something wrong with their thyroid, which my mom also stated could be something wrong too ( my mom is a nurse, so she is a trusted source ) all the ppl stated most of the symptoms I am having. I just am so confused. There are so many reasons that are possible for everything that is going on and I don't know which one it is and I am scared to talk to my mom about all of this. I do not want to have to involve her in anyway unless it is necessary. I am able to go to the doctor on my own, since I'm 18, but I don't have the type of money to go to a doctors visit, thats why my mom would come with. =/ anymore advice?

I don't have a whole lot of experience with the ADHD meds but I know they can possibly mess up your cycle.....why would THC show up if you're only taking Vyvanse? It would show up as an amphetamine on a drug test, but I wouldn't worry if you have a prescription for it, it shouldn't matter if it DOES show up. They don't generally test you for drugs if you go to the hospital for pregnancy unless there's a reason. You should go to the doctor if you're truly worried, but meds AND stress can definitely delay or cause you to miss your period. With a prescription for Vyvanse it won't matter if it shows up on a drug test, and it definitely won't show up as THC from what I understand. Don't know much else to help you, except that you can always test again at home and see if it shows up neg or positive at this point. Good luck :)
