Used monistat...now won't stop burning!! HELP!!!

So I went to my OB today because of the itching I have been experiencing down there and I was told the BV completely cleared and it could be a very mild yeast infection. So the nurse told me to get monistat 7 and use the cream on the outside, not the inside. She told me to use just a tiny bit to test it first and then to use it every night. Well I tried a TINY bit and it burns like you wouldn't believe!!! I was bawling my eyes out because it won't stop burning. Why did I have a reaction like this?? I jumped right in the shower and used cool water on the area and it didn't make much of a difference. I am now not moving for fear of irritating it again and about to get in the shower again. I was feeling much better today and shouldn't have used anything, but the nurse told me to use it so whatever it is would go away. But good grief....this stinkin' hurts!!! Anyone ever have a reaction like this?? Every couple of minutes it just burns, like shooting pains. I wish I hadn't used it..this feeling could make a person go mental....this is the first time I have ever tried this stuff. AHHHHHH
Oh and I am almost 31 weeks.

Thanks Michele! I will definitely ask them if there is something else I could use instead. Tomorrow will be a week of this burning mess!! Maybe I am allergic to it...all I know is I can't try it again and go through that.

Yea it's weird. Today is a bit better, but still dry and irritated and I am afraid of using it again, so I am not. The OB's office opens in about 20 min. so I will be giving them a call.

Tabitha, I haven't shaved down there in probably a month and a half...I actually just trim..not shave, because that hurts a lot! ouch! (I learned my lesson a long time ago..lol)
I just want to feel normal again down there and can't figure this out. =/

I actually found out w/ my last pregnancy that I was allergic to Monistat.  I wasn't always either, but it burned like fire.  I almost had to go to the ER it hurt to bad.  So, my doc gave me a script for another medicine.  I'd ask for a script for another cream under the assumption that you are allergic to Monistat.  That's what it sounds like to me.  That is exactly what happened to me and the other cream was just fine.

I have never used it before, I think I have only had one yeast infection in my life and I dont remember taking anything so maybe it wasnt, IDK. But I was wondering..........have you shaved down there recently?? I get really irritated if I do so I could imagine putting something on it would make it worse. Or maybe its just an allergic reaction. Have you ever used it before?? Oppps I just read that you havent, lol. Try keeping a cold compress down there to relive the stinging/pain you have. Hope you feel better soon:)

Wow, I've never had that reaction to Monistat before.  Usually it helps a lot, but anytime you have dryness or irritation, medicines can react that way.  I hope you feel better soon.

I wonder what it is..maybe because I'm so sore or raw down there that's why it burned so much? Thankfully it has calmed down now. whew. I was getting really worried. I am definitely calling them first thing in the morning to tell them.

Linzola...I was on antibiotics for the BV and when she checked me for it today it was completely gone. So she checked for yeast, and said I barely have it, but to just use the monistat as a precaution. I guess it wasn't bad enough for another antibiotic. I'm thinking it's either a reaction to something in monistat or I'm just so sensitive right now. Hopefully they can figure it out!

I wonder if you're having an allergic reaction to something in it, or if it's not a yeast infection...I've never tried the stuff before, but I'd call your ob and just ask her about it.
