Varicose Veins and ligament pain..i think

So I'm 17w3d and about two weeks ago i noticed i have some varicose veins on my right ankle, and right thigh along with a few on my left calf. I know they say to stay off your feet to help with avoiding getting them but with a 20 month old thats nearly impossible! I try to put my legs up whenever I'm sitting and try not to go out and do things over a couple hours. Do any of you have suggestions about what else would help?

Also I think I've been having round ligament pain but sometimes it seems two-three inches in from my hips, is that normal? i'm not sure how wide my uterus is supposed to go at 17 weeks and everytime i feel it i get really paranoid that something is wrong. I had an appt last week and heard that babies heart beat, a strong 160 bpm. The pain only lasts at most 10-15 seconds and i have it especially when i've been really active that day. I try not to pick up DSS cause he's 30 lbs and my doc suggested i do it as little as possible but as im sure most of you know sometimes you have to.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah thats what the pain feels like, its not super intense just bothersome and doesnt last very long. I havent been able to talk to my doctor yet, trying to get my doc to call me back is horrible. Im so glad we just moved and as soon as my insurance switches to this state Ill be finding a new one

My doc just said to stay off my feet as much as possible(but then looked at 20 month old DS and gave me a look like ooohhhh nvm lol), and that they are really common especially because im so petite. Ill have to look into the stockings and see if i can get them without a script or i can talk to my doc about them, its just so hot that i would die in this heat with them.  I'm only 20 and my right ankle is covered in them and I know there is no way to get rid of them once you have them.

For the round ligament, it sounds as though that's what it is. For me, it felt like period cramping and would be on either side (or both together) and would ache for awhile. Have you brought it up to your doctor at all to see what they think?

With the varicose veins, I believe they make compression stockings that you can get a prescription for. Talk to your doctor about it and see what they think. I've seen a few other ladies that said they help a lot.
