Very weird question about sperm...

Okay, I just have to know. Not exactly proper dinner conversation but this is what DH and I were talking about at dinner tonight. When sperm dies in the vagina, what happens to it? Does it dissolve or lay there like a soldier in the trenches (commonly called TTC)? Does it get pushed out? Just wondering if anyone knew!

I know that usually around afternoon of the day following intercourse...I get the leftovers back...TMI...but like a giant glob of goo...

It's one of the "untalked" about issues involved with intercourse :) TV only shows the romantic, heat of the moment passion...they don't talk about the mess, the clean up, the smell and the leftovers ROFL.

I know that sperm is ejaculated in a "ball" that then spreads once the sperm is in the vagina.  I watched this on Discovery Health Channel.  Most of it is flushed out, if you go to the bathroom right after sex... if you hold off on using the potty after sex, then the sperm has more time to free itself from the "ball".  LOL

Well, it looks like you got quite a few answers here!  I didn't read them all but all I can tell you is that when me and my H BD, the "stuff" comes out of me for about a solid day.  I usually wear a pad the next day!!!  So, it def. comes out; or at least a good part of it.

I LOVE SCRUBS!!! Our episode doesn't come on for another hour and fifteen minutes.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep it FUN and I don't bug DH about the little things (like CM). I just seduce him. LOL!!!

haha  a couple on SCRUBS are trying to concieve and the woman was like "okay my cervical mucous is peaking and my temperature is slightly elavated, and i have these pillows to keep my vagina at a slight angle to allow gravity to pull the sperm to my cervix"  that's what i'm hinting at NOT being... the reason i used words being "natural".. the man in the relationship is talking about how he's not enjoying her behavior, OR the sex.. i think some women who are obsessed by trying to conceive should watch things like these and let it happen.. haha.

Well, just keep in mind girl, that this is what our parts were made for... no intervention is really needed.. it's completely natural and reproducing is really our purpose [in a way..]  so i think you'll be fine without the pre-seed, or the extra CM. just have at it! :) good luck.

Oh no, I mentioned I forgot to buy pre-seed and ended up having other expenses (my DD's 1st birthday in a few weeks---all my extra money went to that)! Hopefully I won't have to buy the pre-seed! LOL! Hopefully this month will be IT!

i am always willing to give my knowledge, but with this one, i'm going to be honest that it's only an assumption.. haha...  as i'm sure you probably know, it doesn't take cm to conceive, but some say it shows when you are ovulating.. although i personally never really noticed a difference in cm every time i was ovulating.. i do not think it is completely necessary, but only an "indicator" and probably it helps by lubricating, and helping the little spermies along on their journey... but as we said earlier, that's most of what male ejaculation is made up of, liquids for lubrication purposes.. and also if you have pre-seed as i think you mentioned, then it should be FINE!  :)

Yup, this might be THE week! LOL! I'm asking some questions around the fertility board and 2WW on whether it is possible to conceive without noticeable CM present. I'm just not finding much by doing a search on google/yahoo so hoping to run into someone with knowledge in this arena!

KStarr, I heard the same thing! Men are always fertile and woman are infertile except for about a 24-48 hour window when she ovulates. I LOVE ANATOMY!

Okay, you've reassured me, KStarr, so we're just going to BD all week long! I don't think my DH will complain!!!

Oh yea I definitely see what you're saying. In my situation I can't BD every night. My DH works out of town so we just BD when we can in hopes of timing it just right!! ;)

haha, i agree.. but that's what i'm saying.. why let it "build up" it's not like he's going to run out! a baby girl is born with [more, actually] all of the eggs in her ovaries that she will ever have in her lifetime, boys are born with testicles, which obviously develop over time, and mature, but they are made for producing sperm, not just dispensing them. i think you could miss the oppertunity to get the timing just right if you skip days of BD on your most fertile days.

The only thing that I've read on the internet about not BD'ing every day is to let the sperm build up every other day....But who knows....I just say go for it when you want to and it will all work out!

I love this new site.  I just started talking on it a couple weeks ago and I'm learning so much but not sure of the jargon yet.  I obviously know what you're talking about with the BD thing but what does that stand for.  There's some very good answers!  This is tooo fun!

I have no concrete evidence for this, but i do not believe that BDing every other night is necessary... But that's just me.. i have read a couple times that there is really no time that the male is infertile, it is only the woman.. [every day other than her ovulation day, and of course after menopause, or ages before menstruating..] my boyfriend and i were having sex every night, when i got pregnant.. so that means he was ejaculating atleast once a day, sometimes twice even... [sorry for so much info lol]... in my opinion, it seems it should up your chances.. to do it every night.. afterall, the testicles are basically a sperm factory! why would you wait days in between??

Bwuahahahaha! Yeah, we BDed last night and I feel "ovulatory" (my new word) so here's HOPING for healthy spermies! I'm almost afraid to BD every other night, like I'll miss something!!! I think I'm just being paranoid. I never bought the pre-seed this month because I had too many other expenses. So it will be a miracle of God!
