WATERBIRTH !!!!!

i just wanted to share this bit of advice with you all. i have had 3 children. my 1st  child i had an epidural and i found it a great pain relief but my son was very groggy for ages afterwards. my second child i had no pain relief at all and she was 8lb1oz and i got a 3rd degree tear and lots of stitches and loads of pain!!! my 3rd  child i had a water birth and it was the most amazing experience in the  world, i was so relaxed it was still quite painful but i felt more in control my baby was born under the water and i sat in the pool and breastfed him straight away. I needed NO stitches and recovered quicker. I am pregnant again and am definately having a water birth again. my youngest is 3now and is a real water baby,he loves baths and going swimming!!!!!

I have no idea where this would be an option in my area, but the next child I have, I think would be wonderful to give birth this way.

thank you so much for sharing your waterbirth experience!!  it has been something that i have been considering.  do they have this option at most hospitals?

That's amazing! You have experienced labor every way! I wanted a water birth with my son, but he was coming down crooked and the midwife wanted to keep an eye on things and couldn't while I was in the tub. I am hoping that next time I will be able to try it. I was in soooo much pain right at the end, that every position I tried seemed to only make things worse! I felt annoyed in the water for some reason once I reached a certain point, but I think maybe if the next baby is coming down correctly, It won't be so bad. Other than that, I had a wonderful delivery and only tore a little bit, but did not need stitches. It healed fairly quickly.
