Oh, okay.. well, I was concerned about the clear liquid since it occured at all in the first place, it got me thinking how could my water leak and then just completely stop? It seemed very different than my usual discharge and so it had me a little worried. So far it hasn't come up again. I'll keep an eye out for it though and so far no blood, and no mucous plug or anything. I hope labor is coming soon though.
thanks for the help though. :)
I can understand that... Well the liquid if its completely gone or stopped than I would think its not your waters. But the discharge "leukorrhea" becomes heavier and contains more mucous which my be streaked red with blood or tinged brown or pink after intercourse or a pelvic exam or as your cervix begins to dialte. }per: what to expect when expecting...Your discharge will increase a lot before going into labor. There is a very noticable difference in the 2 of course. But as long as its discharge and not liquid than I would not be concerend as long as its not a green or foul smelling. And you can smell the difference between your waters and pee of course. You can call L&D anytime to just to see if they think you should come in. Especially this close to the end. They dont usually ask anything but how far along you are and your "symptoms" unless you say your having contractions, but thats only to get ready for you....
no because the leaking it started out as seemed to have stopped, I don't think I made that real clear in my OP, but it was a watery type of liquid that happened a few times, in exchange with the discharge, then after that the discharge picked up a lot and has been heavier than usual but the clear liquid I saw hasn't shown up in a while, as far as I've been able to tell [and I pay pretty close attention] I didn't tell my mom about it because it didn't get any worse and seemed to have slowed/stopped.. Plus I can hardly ever talk to her alone and really don't want my step dad in my personal business.
Hmm..
Joy - well, it doesn't smell sweet it has the usual starchy-ish smell to it. I don't know what else to call it.. And I tried pantyliners, they drive me insane!! They were far more uncomfortable than just dealing with the annoying wetness.. lol It may sound odd but I use rolled up TP as a pantyliner, it seems to work when it wants to stay in place. hah
natemomma27 - okay.. I may call.. but wouldn't they still have me come in if I call? The point is I can't go and get checked, unless I know it's urgent. I'm torn here on what to do..
Iam really sorry to hear hat... but if its liquid and not a creamy discharge than i would make someone take you... I was leang for 2 days before I went, I was put on pitocin to make her come faster... my doc told me if she wouldnt have been blocking so much i could of put her in serious harm. If its liquids and not a discharge and not pee. Then you need to make someone take you. Or call L&D and ask them what they think. Does your mom know that you think your leaking? Maybe you should ask her what she thinks?
Sounds like good ol' pre-labor discharge, hon! Amniotic fluid would smell sweet. I had to wear panty liners those last weeks. So take stock in some and hopefully you'll be having a baby very soon!
why not just call the L&D and ask them...explain to them you can not get ahold of your doctor and you are not sure what to do. when my doctor wouldn't answer my calls, or we hit a long weekend, id just call them and they were ALWAYS able to reach my doctor or they'd just have me come in anyway.
And there hasn't been a change in movements or anything with the baby everything else seems okay.
No I know for sure that it is not urine. It isn't the texture of urine, does not smell like urine.. I can't go to L&D though, one of my parents would have to take me and when I make one of them get up and motivated to get something done they act like I'm annoying the @#% out of them (plus my step dad is at work today).. :( This has been going on for days though, and I don't know, some people say "don't worry it's not a problem" or "there's often an increase in discharge" etc. and some others say Get checked out! I don't really have the means to go to L&D and it would probably turn out to be nothing and my mom would be really irritated at me for wasting her time... Ugh! I have an apt. Tuesday, do you think it could wait that long?? I don't want to put my baby at risk, if there really is a problem but I don't know what to do, really..
i had that problem and i felt silly when i found out it was actualy pee...my bladder was full and the pressure from the baby caused me to 'leak' and it was worse when i moved around. keep us posted!
Not all women notice the mucos plug coming out..... I didnt with my 1st. I had no idea. But I did have a slow "leak". And yes the baby's head can make it come out in squirts so to speak. NO amnion... fluid is NOT always clear. the baby could have a BM or Urine, or even an infection. So if you THINK it may be your waters then go to L&D right now!!! If your waters are leaking or broken then they will want to deliver your baby withing 24hrs. Even if your not having any pains or anything. If there is the slightest chance it could be liquids then go make sure your baby is safe.....
Please update!!!
you may want to get checked for a leak but it sounds more like your mucus plug coming out slowly. that is what i had and it sounds like what you are describing. Dont be surprised if you get some pink tinged mucus in the coming days. It could also be a normal part of the last weeks of pregnancy. Your body naturally makes more discharge in preperation for birth to help the baby come out. Good Luck and remember to enjoy those last weeks. You will miss them!
I know that the closer you get to the end the more discharge you have. Fluid is usually clearish and smells kinda sweet and there isn't really any mistaking it for discharge. I know that when my water broke I hadn't lost any of my plug and because it would come in gushes every once in a while when the baby was moving around my mucous plug would come with it. So gross. I think that if you are worried you should go to L&D that way they can check you out and see if it is amniotic fluid.
