What Could it be?

Hi there.  I am 18 years old. I recently missed my period, by 4 days, then got light spotting which was a normal blood color. But it didnt stop, and turned into a dark dark brown discharge color, and is sticky. I have been having this discharge for over a week and a half. Thought i was pregnant through all of this, took a test said negative, was it too early? could i be? I am on the pill, but i have missed some and have not been faithful to it at the same time every day. If condom was not used, the withdraw method is used. Could i be pregnant? What could it be?

Not taking your bc correctly can absolutely mess with your periods. If it doesn't return to normal this next cycle, consult your Dr. And possibly consider a more long term form of bc like nuvaring or depo to decrease your chances of missing doses

It could be any number of things including pregnancy.  One thing to consider is that birth control is meant to be taken at the same time every day...if you are having trouble remembering to take them consistently that could possibly mess up your cycle.

the pull out method is a terrible way to advoid pregnancy
most likely your light spotting may be your period, but just wait a couple more days and test again
