What are the chances of pregnancy with the pull out method?

This may or maynot have been asked before, but I was wandering what are the chances?

The reason for this question is that DH and I are not activly trying to get pergnant but wouldnt mind if we did! We don't use any type of birth control other than the pull out method! I was just wandering what the chances are and also does every man precum?

yes u can get pregnant by the PO.  I think all the qusetions regarding the PO and the precum all sum up my situation.  i was not on BC and not trying to.  Always used to PO method with my ex but never got pregnant.  Then another bf comes around and used the same method and bam...hello jr...

I got pregnant with my first daughter that way.
My buttmunch hubby didn't like the condoms we were trying out, and was sneaking off the condoms.
Cuz what we would do is use the condoms, and at the very last second he'd pull out, rip off the condom and finish by hand.
So that's how I didn't know he was sneaking off the condoms before then.

Pre-ejaculation can be just as lethal as the real thing. You might as well not be even bothering pulling out.
Hubby's brother's wife got pregnant with all 4 of their kids only using the pull out method.

Some women get lucky enough, and others don't.

The last pregnancy i had we were the same as you and your hubby, no birthcontrol not trying but you know. And thats how we got pregnant was with the pull out. I actually didnt know until recently that pre-ejaculation could get you pregnant. silly me lol

I agree with Joy.  You have up to a 25% of getting pregnant.  I say "up to" because it depends on whether there is any pre-ejaculate etc. so chances could vary each cycle but could be as high as 25% (regular chance of becoming pregnant under ideal conditions).

Out of curiosity, why not just ttc?  If its something you wouldn't mind happening then why not just go for it?

Dh and I used it for 8 months in highschool and I didn't get preggo. We also used it for 3 mo before TJ except for 1x when he didn't pull out... hence TJ. and 3-4 months between TJ and mason and didn't get pregnant
Personally I think it has to do with how well the guy knows his body or that we were just very lucky.... whichever is the case I didn't get preggo.

I can tell you that it didn't work for me.  The funny thing is me and my DH(then boyfriend) got very into it one night and he didn't have protection and didn't pull out.  I freaked out when I found out that this was right around my fertile time......turned out I wasn't pregnant.  The next month (stupid us) we didn't use protection, but he ALWAYS pulled out.  I didn't even think about being pregnant...I only took the test cause I had an extra from the month before.........so for me, the pull out method resulted in pregnancy..

I believe it is the same for anyone who doesn't use protection- 25%.

DH and I have used this methode for most of our relationship. I have been on BC only a few times and the PO method have always worked for us when we were trying not to get pregnant. So for us to start trying DH just stopped pulling out and it happened. I would say your chances of concieving are slim using this method although some would argue, it always worked as BC for us. Good luck!
