What does it mean when your baby `drops'

What does it mean for your baby to 'drop'.. Is this noticible on the outside or just an internal thing.. When does it happen? Do they move further down

I'm expecting my 4th baby and my bump dropped at 32 weeks, great for the breathlessness but as th above post says..more toilet trips! Am almost 34 weeks now, hoping it might mean I go a little early or on time at least!

It's when your baby moves down into your pelvis so there's not much of the baby right at the top so your stomach looks like it's dropped a little bit at the bottom. My son dropped when I was 32 weeks and because it was low it just looked like I'd shoved a basket ball up my top lol

it looks lower down, so you might have had a bump starting from your ribs, when it drops you will have a gap and look like your carrying lower so to speak because baby has dropped into your pelvis

this is a common term for when baby moves down into your pelvis in readiness for birth, in first time pregnancies it can happen as early as 34-36 wks with subsequent pregnancies, sometimes not until you actually go into labour, you can also notice a difference when they do as you can breathe abit easier as baby isnt right up under your ribcage, but you tend to get alot of pain/aches in your pelvis area as well
