What happened to other women after they were told this? Please i need input !

I had my 36 week check up today & my doctor informed me that i am 1 - 2 cm dilated. She told me that some women can hold on for two weeks, some go in a few days. I am very curious as to how many other women dilated this early and when they had their babies.

I am asking because I don't know what to expect and my doctor told me to literally lay down ALL day and not do any moving around. Is this really healthy?

Please help.

With my first I was 3-4 cm for a week and with my second I had pre-term labor and was 2-4 cm for over a month and was 5cm for a week and gave birth at 36 weeks. Your doctor may not want you to aggravate anything or dilate more since you are only 36 weeks and that's considered pre-mature still. I just wouldn't do any heavy lifting or anything crazy until another week or so. But most women are 1-2 cm and don't even know it and go full term. Everyone is different! But you are approaching the finish line!!

hun, I was 1 cm dilated for 3 weeks, went into hospital 1 cm dilated to be induced, never moved beyond 1, ended up with a c-section. My friend was walking around 4 cm dilated for a couple weeks, too!

My first time i was around 38 weeks, and on my once a week prenatal check ups, one week i was not dilated at all the next week I was dilated 4 cm, my blood pressure was high that day (I hadnt eaten or had any nicotine that day) forgot to tell the docs that and they Induced that day...From what the nurse told me I couldve went into labor at any time, if i had just told them that thay wouldnt have induced. I'm 20 weeks now with my second.
