What to expect after D&C??

I had my D&C Wednesday. Other than being a little tired, I am confused on what my body should be doing.  I have had very bad cramps and no bleeding, just a little pink spotting. If I am cramping shouldn't there be something coming along with the cramps? I thought by now I would have passed a clot or something. Or maybe my doctor just cleaned me out that good where there is no bleeding? Has anyone had the same thing?

Thank you for your comments. My husband and I aren't sure if we are going to try. We had back to back miscarriages. One in August which I lost naturally, then this one which only developed to 6w and never a heartbeat. I already have (3) children from a previous relationship, and he has (1) son from his previous marriage. He will be 40 this year as I will be 35. I think we are going to close shop, just to prevent any further heartache.  Dr. says to wait a few months and think about it before making any decisions as we are reacting on emotions right now. Not sure what we are going to do.

had a d/c and no cramping , i spottted [pink] for a few days then it got a bit stronger color and i did notice small dark clots too, no pain. in 2 weeks there was no more spotting at all. hope it continues being easy for you. and that you get pregnant w/ a healthy child soon. [ i was told to wait at least to periods to strenghten the cervix and not to repeat the loss].
good luck

I had a D&C last month. I was in complete misery for about 1 week and thought things were abnormal...I got extremely sick vomiting and what not. Found out that I needed another D&C because the sac was still there but not the embryo

After my D & C I bled for a couple days and then passed a couple clots and then just spotted for a couple weeks. I have friends who had them where they barely spotted at all just had some cramping like you are describing. Basically its that your doctor cleaned you out well enough that you dont have a lot to still pass. Consider it a blessing.

I also had a D&C about 5yrs ago.  The first few days after I cramped but not that bad and I spotted.  It was probably 3days later I had severe cramps and started bleeding heavier.  I usually have a high tollerance to pain and don't take rx pain relievers but I had to fill the rx the dr gave because the pains were that bad.  It took a couple of days after the procedure for the pains to get really bad and the bleeding to get heavier.  All in all about 11/2-2wks all was gone.  But I did have a period about a week after the bleeding and cramps stopped. Also, It really didn't hit me that I had lost my baby until the bleeding came heavier and that is when my emotions really went crazy.  I cried for days and nothing my husband did helped console me.  It just took time on my part and acceptance.   And if you were trying to get pregnant you are very likely to do so after the d&C.  it took 4 yrs to get pregnant with the baby I lost but only 7 months after the procedure, I was pregnant again and now have a beautiful 4yr old daughter.  I hope this helps.

I had a D&C 5 years ago. After getting home from the hospital I was having extremely severe cramps and heavy bleeding. The cramps were so severe I asked the doctor for a stronger pain reliever. Later that evening, they got worse, but were coming on timed intervals.  I went to the bathroom and passed an extremely large piece of tissue. It was about the size of a softball and was so painful. I went to the ER and was admitted for blood loss. Turns out the timed interval cramps were contractions...my body trying to get rid of what was left.  In any case, pay attention to your body and if anything seems different than what the doctor told you to expect, call him/her.  Good luck and sorry for your loss.
