cant answer your question .. but i am sorry for your loss.
My OB office was really great at dealing with this. I hear all the time no testing until at least your 3rd m/c and it shocked me when my OB referred us. I guess she understood that we needed some kind of answers and she just wasn't able to do that. Plus, we had seen her on the 12 and saw the baby and heartbeat and I m/c on the 16 so she was just as confused and upset as we were. Best of luck to you too!
I can't blame you for going ahead with the testing.....I wish I would have demanded more after mine, but it was the 1st time.....only thing is that it was twins and I still wonder to this day why neither one of them made it...You hear of 1 dying and the other living all the time...Not sure what happened there, but our pathology report came back as "No Chromosomal Abnormalities" so that's good....Sorry I couldn't answer you questions but I hate my OB office and was wondering if they should have done more! At least I'm bumping your question to the top for someone else to answer! Best of luck.
No problems except this was our second miscarriage during the first trimester. Which the doctors diagnose as being abnormal chromosomes. Our chromosomes didn't match up to form a perfect baby and that's why we m/c. We went to a RE to get our dna checked to make sure we don't have any underlying problems and the extensive blood work is to check other common fators for miscarriages. Just a peace of mind for us. We did this because this was our second loss. With our first loss we had a D&C and the tissue was sent off.
Did you have problems during the pregnancy? Just curious b/c I too had a missed M/C in Dec. followed by a D&C and all they did was run a pathology report on the "tissue" and no other bloodwork.....Just wondering if I should have had more done?????
