What week starts what month?

Just curious about your opinions on which week starts what month...I looked at it as every four weeks starts a new month, because we're technically pregnant ten lunar months. SO...
1-4       1 month
5-8       2 months
9-12     3 months
13-16   4 months
17-20   5 months
21-24   6 months
25-28   7 months
29-32   8 months
33-36   9 months
36-40   10 months

But do you say you're four months pregnant from week 13-16 OR do you say you're four months pregnant once you're past 16 weeks until 21 weeks when you're five months pregnant?

I was trying to find something online and one site said 27-30 weeks is 7 months, 31-35 8 months, and 36-40 nine months...it didn't have anything before 7 months listed...but that confused me, because they have four weeks for seven months, but five weeks for eight months...

I'll be 30 weeks Thursday, giving me ten weeks, or just under three months left. So am I six and a half months, or am I seven months, when do I start month eight? You would think knowing how many months you are wouldn't be this confusing...maybe it's just me, LOL.

How bout this, you can be as many months pregnant as you want bc you are the pregnant one ;) so if at 20 weeks you say 4, 5 or even six months that's ok ;). Or really freak people out tell them you are 2 months and watch the look on their face when you are nine months but then tell them you are kidding.

yeah 28 is the start of third trimester....and week 36-40 is your 9th month, which means at 40wks you have completed 9 months and you are starting your 10th lunar month, so if you go over your due date you're actually pregnant for 10+ months.

I always go by the the end of the time line so when I'm 16 weeks I am 4 months 18 weeks would be 4 1/2 months etc it is only in the last month when I tell people that I have x amount of weeks left as it gets to confusing explaining that your due date is 10 months

Thanks Heather! I don't think after 36 weeks it matters much, you're nine months, and ready to have the baby OUT! It's just confusing because of the lunar months/calendar months and 40 week stuff...

LOL wow everyone is pretty confused. I think Sabrina..the first thing that you had up is correct. I printed off a calendar that had little tidbits of info for every day that ur pregnant and I'm almost 38 weeks and the month I have up now says 10th month at the top. Once you hit 40 weeks..you've actually been pregnant for 10 months and not 9. On the day that I turned 27 weeks...it says "Congrats, you've just finished your second trimester".

At 37 weeks you're full term. I'm not sure when 3rd trimester starts...I tried looking for an answer to that one, but got more than one. So I don't know what week starts it. I just know since I'm 29 weeks 5 days, I'm in the 3rd trimester.

So... as 9 months is 36 weeks.. you could say from36 weeks you're full term??
This is more confusing than a tongue twister
so in 2 weeks, I'll be in the 3rd trimester?? I just say every sunday.
I am this many weeks. So on this Sunday coming i'll be 25 weeks....
I am SOO confused

cassandra19~~~Then why do they say 10 lunar months?

cassandrajane~~~I've got mixed answers on the third trimester...but I know I'm in it, LOL. I've read 26-29 weeks is when it starts... I really have no clue. BUT full term you're at the end and it's safe for delivery at any point past then, at 37 weeks. Anytime after 37 weeks the baby is considered full term, not a premature baby.

lol you guys. They don't really say you are pregnant for 10 months, its 9 months. Because you do not count the first 4 weeks of conception because that is the time from your LMP to the time you get the BFP! you guys get it.

0-4 weeks is period to BFP!
4 weeks you start one month,
8 weeks 2 months,
12 weeks 3 months,
16 weeks, 4 months,
20 weeks, 5 months,
24 weeks, 6 months,
28 weeks, 7 months,
32 weeks, 8 months,
36 weeks, 9 months..

confusing huh!

Well the way I see it when you hit week 5 you've already been through 4 weeks, so you're starting a new month...1-4 is month 1, 5-8 is month 2, etc...

Yeah, that's what I do..I was just looking at something early that made me think about it. I usually go by the lunar months because you're pregnant 10 lunar months, which makes more sense to me since it's 40 weeks, and it just sounds right saying it's ten months...I don't know...it's so confusing!

Yea I thought that too but then again every month has a diff amount if days not just 28 which would make the 4 7 day weeks in a month.  I'm still kinda confused so I usually just say how many weeks I am lol

See that doesn't make sense...according to your book, month 3 month 5 and month six have five weeks in them...

I have a book and it had every month broken down to weeks. It says
1-4 1 month
5-8 2 months
9-13 3 months
14-17 4 months
18-22 5 months
23-27 6 months
28-31 7 months
32-35 8 months
36-40 9 months

So since I'll be 30 weeks Thursday, I've completed seven full months and I'm in the eighth month? And then at 33 weeks I'll be starting the 9th month? I'd never tell someone I'm in my tenth month because that would be confusing, after 36 weeks I'd just say 9 months, or I have X weeks left since it'd be 4 or less...(hopefully ;) )

But I'm in my eighth month now?

So every 4 months is another month...
Like it is above... But I thought the 24th weeks means 6 months... and then like 26 weeks is like 6 and a half!!...
I think I just confused myself more...
so 32 weeks you would be 8 months. if its every 4 weeks = a month like 24 weeks -= 6 months going by 4 x's table...?

I go with what you posted.  If you are 4 months I would say you are 16 weeks...meaning you have COMPLETED a FULL four months and are starting into the 5th.
