When can I make a home pregnancy test?

I think I am pregnant, but i had a period-like bleeding for 8 days. However, I did not have a chance to make a test before the period, so I want to know when can I make the soonest  test after the period to know if I am relly prego?

I took a test today and it came back negative... I guess I am really not pregnant. Can you tell me how long it took you to conceive (if not a prob). Tnx

It could be, but if it was, you would not normally bleed like this now. Implantation bleeding is normally light and lasts only a few days. Sometimes not even a day. The brownish spotting could have been your body expelling old blood. I had it once, right before my period started for about two days. It's true that some women bleed while pregnant, but it's hard to say. I would personally wait till the next time you got your period just to see if it actually comes as usual. If it doesn't, you could retest then. You can test after your period stops if you like. I'm not too sure when would be the best time.

Well, normally I wouldn't think I am pregnant if i have bleeding, but this time I think I am pregnant because 5 days before my period came I had brownish spotting, which I thought was implantation bleeding... It has never happened before, that's why I think I might be pregnant, and I have heard stories from women that had a period-like bleeding during pregnancy. I don;t know if I should make a test now - 2 days after the bleeding ended, or should I wait till the next period date... Thanks for the answers though, but I am still confused...

You would typically test around the time you're due to get your period, up to two weeks after it was expected. Since you're bleeding, and have been for 8 days, it would sound as though you're not pregnant.

Usually if you get your period you are not pregnant but..... the first day of your period starts a new cycle... you should ovulate somewhere around 10-14 days and test 14 days after ovulation...
