When did your baby get their first tooth?

Just curious to see the range of when you baby got their first tooth.  My kids got them around 6 months, but my granddaughter is almost 11 months old and still doesn't have a tooth.  We laugh because she started walking at 9 1/2 months, but still can't chew food......

Thanks.

My daughter is about 7 1/2 months now and we're still waiting for the first tooth to pop through the gums!  The funny part is that she's been teething on and off since she was about 4 months old... drooling like crazy and chewing on everything in sight.  It's good to see that there are a few other babies out there still toothless at this age... I was starting to get worried, but the pediatrician told us it can take as long as a year (or longer) for some babies.

well, she started the teething sypmtoms by 4 or 5 months, but didn't cut the first tooth until 8 1/2 months. the next didn't come for another month or 2.

What's funny is she was actually teething at around 3-4 months, chewing, drooling, the whole nine yards, then it went away.  It started again a couple of months later, but still nothing.  Everytime she gets diarreah (sp?), we wonder if it is teething related, but NOPE, just a caught a bug.

It just seems weird that it is taking so long.  I have heard that kids can get them after their 1st birthday, but I really don't know anyone that it really happened to, so I was curious if anyone actually experienced that, or if the doctor gets concerned by a certain point.

My son starting teething at 3 months, but the 2 bottom teeth didn't come in until 4 months. Then a couple of months later he got the top 2. He's now 1 and has 3 more coming in at once.
I have a friend whos daughter didn't get her first tooth until after her 1st birthday! Since then I think she has gotten a few more. Every baby is different!

With my first 2 boys they started teething around 2.5-3 months and had 2 theeth before they were 4 months old. Thats very early to get teeth, they were very fussy babies. My last son just got 2 teeth sometime around 6 months, I had been expecting it from about 4 months on but the timing of his was acually more normal. I would say that anytime after 4 months is normal. Between 6-9 you should see a few. Some babies are a little later, but im sure the BFing mommys dont mind, lol:)
