You can pump and feed you baby right after you pump. I usually kept the stored milk for when I wasn't around or if someone else wanted to feed him or if I was in public and didn't have somewhere I felt comfortable feeding him. I don't really remember when I started the bottle, but I know he was good about with others and not so good with me.
Some babies will prefer the bottle over the breast, just because it's much easier. I mainly breastfeed my daughter, but she gets maybe a bottle a day and goes back and forth with no issues. Wait until you have established breastfeeding first and then try introducing a bottle. It might make a difference if you intend to use bottles frequently or every once in awhile too.
I started pumping when my daughter was maybe 4 days old. I only give a bottle once every 2 days though and there havent been any problems as of yet. Im only pumping to help build my milk supply though and to let DH help with feedings somemtimes. Im not sure how often you are planning to bottle feed but it is said that even with breast milk that bottle feed babies will over eat.
how old is ur baby? I started trying to offer the bottle around 7 weeks and kinda wish i woulda tried sooner because then i had a hard time getting DD to take the bottle. But i'd wait at least a month.
