I only bought a few outfits like 4 when I found out the sex. I am afraid since I have lost two babies in 2007. I might buy more things but unitl I hit the 7th month. Right now I am jsut 22 weeks.
It never hurts to stock up on wipes. I'm thinking about buying some every week for a while. Anyway, I am a bargain shopper so I started picking up things even before I was pregnant if it was a super good deal. But that was mostly really small stuff, like a changing pad for $1. Big stuff (high chair, activity center) I didn't start buying until around 16-20 weeks, and that was because they went on clearance. I am trying to leave a few things for the baby shower- bouncer, bottles, etc.
I am 21 weeks and I bought a carseat on Saturday. When I get my incometax refund my hubby and I are going to buy one of those 4 in one cribs at Babies R Us I cant wait I started buying things as soon as I was told it was a boy and registered on the saturday following my u/s. My husband has bought a few things also. Hes a Nike freak so he bought a couple Nike outfits and a little teeney weenie baseball hat!
I registered when the urine hit the stick! HA! Okay, not that early, but I registered early.
Then I told DH I wanted to buy the travel system (infant seat/stroller) so we bought that before knowing the gender (wish I would've waited because I had two girls and PINK would've been awesome!).
I got everything at my baby shower so if you're planning on having someone do one for you, just buy little things (socks, onesies)! Then, after the shower, you can get the rest or exchange the fugly stuff for cute stuff. ;-)
thats how i am.. i am afraid to really buy anything yet.. I'm almost 15 weeks. I just tell myself when you find out then you can really start thinking about buying stuff
As soon as i found out i was pregnant i was looking at pushchairs, cots, car seats the lot but unfortunately i lost mine and luckily i never brought anything so when i fall again (Hopefully this month) i will wait till i have my 20 weeks scan i think so i will then know the sex and that everything is ok but everyone is different. I think when you feel its the right time to buy you will.
I am 24 weeks and am so afraid to buy anything.. I am waiting for a baby shower, or honestly right until I am due.. after my last m/c I am scared to have all that stuff, i am getting the babies room ready, will probably buy a crib within the next month, but that is it.. And I am dying to shop really, but sooo scared...
K thanks! My fiance really wants the start buying he is soo excited.. I'm still kinda iffy about it all.. he did buy a couple passifiers but didn't mean for me to find them haha.. his mom said as soon as i give the okay she wants to start buying
With my first, I started buying after I find out the sex of my baby. I didn't buy too terribly much since I received a lot from my showers. I only purchases a few big ticket items that I didn't register. You can start buying things like onesies, sleepers, etc if you see them on sale. I always buy for the next season too when I see like the Winter stuff now that are on clearance.
I am currently 12 weeks with my 2nd and probably won't start buying until I find out. If it's a boy, I hardly have to buy anything because my son is only 15 months now.
Good luck.
I just bought some stuff from Walmart.com and did the site-to-store so i didnt ahve to pay shipping. I wont' be getting any baby showers so it's all on me. I got my travel system, bathtub, a bottle drying rack, an ear thermometer, a bouncy seat and swing. I'm watching some other stuff on ebay too. I'm 15 weeks today.
i started purchasing the general things that didnt matter about sex...such as activitiy things (bouncer, playmat, exersaucer)...ill buy clothes and more gender specific things as soon as i find out the sex...i cant wait
