maxi cosi is a good choice! i think they have the best design overall, and the colors are yummy! also its tiny! which is excelent when you have to lug it around..... i know thats what ill be buying bc i have the foray which can adapt to it, just by using the bottom portion, the wheels.
I have the maxi-cosi priori for my toddler and really love it which is making me lean towards the maxi-cosi micro... but some of the older reviews don't sound all that great. I'm annoyed because I know that safety wise the micro-cosi pebble got high results... but they refuse to sell it in the US because its too new. Ugh.
BOB stroller is definatly heavy duty.... i think its too bulky and big for where i live.... (city) I was considering that at one point.... the foary is the same thing as the bugaboo. If the bugaboo weighed less i may have boughten that one.
First time mommy here but my recommendation is check consumer reports they do independent safety testing and rate them based on safety and based on price so you can find a great price and very safe all at the same time. Thats what I did before registering for a car seat :)
I had a Quinny Buzz stroller.. I used it twice, and I sold it on craigslist for $100.. Which is about 1/3 of what I paid for it.. I HATED that thing.. It was flimsy (IMO) It may have been a Zapp, I can't remember.. But it totally turned me off of the Quinny brand.. I now have a BOB stroller, and it is my favorite, most used item.. I think it is super bulky tho, and it was super expensive!! Ugh. I wish baby gear was less expensive!
i've never used any of these, with DS we had a graco from a family member but will be buying a newer one as his is pretty worn out and i know the safety isnt the best on it compared to newer ones. so i've been looking for opinions on them too. One of the best places i've found for product reviews, even if you plan on buying it in person, is on the amazon website. hope that helps, thats where i've been looking up reviews for everything i plan on buying for DD. Also babies r us usually has alot of reviews on baby car seats, stroller etc as well.
YEP!!!!!! For my next baby im going to get the maxi cosi carseat that snaps right on the wheels of the foray!!!! =) and it has a huge storage basket!
We just installed our maxi cosi car seat..i really like it. The fabric and head supporter is really soft which i liked. its not too heavy as well. I am with Julianovak on the travel systems. We looked at a bunch and they seemed quite cheap; We went with the Quinny Buzz stroller and the mazi cosi car seat, its like a travel system but i think much better quality.
for an infant we loved our britax one. For our son's second carseat we got him a Eddie Bauer one that has worked well for us. I'd suggest checking Amazon, Yahoo and other places for reviews on each of the ones your looking for, or if your having a hard time deciding between a few.
I love travel systems cause you don't have to take the baby out of the car seat to move it to the stroller why wake a sleeping baby right..., I had travel system for all three of my kids.... This Is my last baby so I promised my self that I would get whatever stroller car seat no matter the price and a gucci diaper bag and if it's a girl she will have a very pretty pair of Dior shoes....
I like the chicco infant car seats that snap into the stroller since they are really light and easy to adjust. Then we switched to the Satety 1st Alpha, it's also really easy to adjust and she seems to like it.
If you have a babies r us by you go in and they have a bench seat out of a car where you can take the demo seats down and practice strapping them in. That's how I picked ours it seemed easy to install and nice and secure.
I'm with LosingMyMindInGA we use Cosco for our 2 year old. Idk if they make infant ones too. And our 5 year old has evenflo.
They both are fantastic! My sister has use Cosco for all her kids and she has 3. Laura is right just bc they are cheaper doesn't mean they haven't passed the same safety test.
The Peg Perego is super light.... That is the thing the bothered me the most with the graco.... Its the heaviest bulkiest seat out there. When you chose a car seat make sure its as light as can be. Dont FORGET a baby who will quickly grow to be a good 20 lbs..... on top of the weight of car seat..... And Please dont buy a "travel" system..... They are tacky and so bulky.... Just buy a good stroller (maclaren, peg perego, quinny), that is both light and durable.... I personally love the quinny/peg perego.....On the other hand I have the maxi cosi foray.... its not "light" but so comfortable and my child looks like a princess in it!
Oh and i'd like to add that I've only used ONE combi item...a high chair. and for the price it's a piece of **i*!!! I won't waste my money on anything else Combi brand.
I go with Cosco or Graco. Currently I have a cosco travel system. They work just fine for me and I don't see a need to spend tons more on a fancier name brand. Just keep in mind whether or not you plane to do a lot of airplane travel becuase you will need a seat that is certified for airline use.
I had a chicco Cortina Keyfit for Jaxson when he was younger and it was a great seat! And you can buy bases for both vehicles, very convenient. The ONLY "downfall" is that they are VERY heavy! Once Jaxson hit 15 pounds, I had a hard time carrying it. But overall, I loved it. And Britax carseats are FANTASTIC, but they are seriously pricey.. BUT keep in mind, ALL car seats MUST meet the same Federal safety regulations. Britax runs additional test = higher "safety" ratings b/c they choose to test their carseats over and above the Federally required safety tests. Just FYI.. =)
We bought Orbit Baby Carseat and we love it.
We bought a Chicco Keyfit 30 infant car seat. We loved because it goes up to 30 lbs.
We went the Safety 1st OnBoard 35Air McKenna.
The base is longer than most I would say but there is a way to put it In without the base very simply and the seat itself is not bigger than most.... What luxery car do you have? But I would doubt the base to fit in the sports car.... But I saw it and had to have it I got the cowmooflage car seat and stroller lol it's so cute
Hmm... see I looked into those (and maybe you can shed some light on this) but I heard that they are super big and hard to fit into cars. I have one sports car and one "luxury" car and I need it to be able to fit into both without having to move the seat all around since DH is 6'3.
I got britax chaperone which is supposed to be the safest car seat on the market
