Thanks! I was on 400 mg with my daughter too and all went fine...I tried to get him to increase the dose and he wouldnt.
I would find another doctor.
If low progesterone is the problem then he definitely COULD have and should have increased the dosage. I was on 400mg of Prometrium the beginning of this pregnancy.
You can use ratemds.com to find a doctor in your area and read ratings about them.
I have had low progesterone in the past and they think that is the cause. Thats why I dont understand when my progesterone started to drop and my HCG numbers were still coming up why he wouldnt let me have a higher dosage of the meds. I was on a much higher dose with my daughter and all worked out great. And everytime I called his office he was out of town and I was stuck talking to his nurse and her sending him messages and I got tired of it and emailed him myself and all I got was " You need to reduce your stress about the situation" and that it is norm for the levels to do this....Even the ER staff tried to contact him and they kept saying he was out of town and they couldnt reach him. I emailed him lastnite to see what the next steps need to be and to let him know I lost the baby and he has yet to reply to that email. I dont know what to think about this anymore.
In the event progesterone supplements fail to support a pregnancy then low progesterone is most likely not the reason for your miscarriage(s). A pregnancy that is not viable will be miscarried despite the supplements.
Have they done any testing to determine why you've had 3 miscarriages? Sometimes women have blood clotting disorders they're unaware of and taking a baby aspirin can help prevent future miscarriages.
Otherwise, you definitely qualify for a fertility specialist as you've had more than 3 losses. They might be able to figure out what is going on better than an OBGYN who isn't as skilled in this particular department.
