Zofran for morning sickness

Hi I am 23 and expecting my first child. I am 8 weeks along and have a due date of January 22nd 2015.

At 6 weeks I was hospitalized due to my severe morning sickness- and was prescribed 4mg dissolvable tablets to take once every 8 hours as needed. I have taken them for about two weeks.

I haven't needed any for two days so I might be out of the woods with this, but does anyone have any experience with this pharmaceutical or others for morning sickness? Was your child okay? If there was an issue was it linked to the meds for morning sickness?

My doctor approved it but I am still curious, please respond if you are comfortable.

I had a doctor tell me that there has been recent studies proving that while is incredibly effective, it may not be the safest, and that there is a slim chance for defects. I found the studies she was talking about, on my own time, and decided the benefits don't out weigh the risks(as one of the risks is getting serotonin syndrome, and dying). I stopped zofran, and have been fairly fine since, but it's also up to you. You should be okay, because there is ALOT of healthy babies born that zofran was used the entire pregnancy.

Zofran is category b drug. Your baby is safe :)  I had to take that as well in the beginning and now I am 34w4d with twin girls who are very healthy.  Also I work in a pharmacy.  Congratulations on your pregnancy.  :)
