There is also another line of thinking to giving birth with a cold.  I had a pretty bad sinus and chest infection when I delivered my last.  I was having such a hard time breathing that my daughter wasn't getting enough oxygen and her heart rate kept dropping, I ended up on oxygen and they had to give me meds to help me breath better.

Take it easy, speak with your doctor.  If you aren't already, ask about the possibility of an antibiotic.  It would be far better to get rid of this crud NOW and let baby cook a little longer so YOU can be at your best when you deliver.

The amino would be to check the maturity of the baby's lungs. If they are not ready they will give you a steroid shot to mature them if you are fling into preterm labor and such.

I will say though that my dr is considering doing my c section at 37 weeks with this baby because I had uterine surgery to correct some issues and he is worried about the uterine wall being too thin to progress much further and when I asked about complications for the baby and myself he said at 37 weeks you are considered full term and will be fine.

Thank you all so much! Its not that i hate being pregnant because it is hands down the most amazing thing in my life but its so hard and I feel like I'm letting him down by wanting him out so bad but I just want to hold him, seeing other babies makes me want to cry! I just love him so much already!! So I'm going to try all of those cause this cold is BAD. And what is the amniocentesis

U can do saline nose sprays, robitussin(plain) for cough, Tylenol for fever and body aches, and benadryl for runny nose itchy throat, and chloriseptic for throat pain.  You can also do cough drops and vicks vapor rub to help unstuff u.   Also if u can find them get shower soothers, u put them in the shower with you and as they melt they release vapors that unstuff u too.(cvs carries them they r by the vicks vapor rub) had a horrible cold with number 3 and dr said all the above were fine.  Get well soon!

Trust me I've given birth with an awful cold before and you do NOT want that. Try to rest up and get better so when you go into labor you can enjoy the whole experience.

Also, doctors usually say "any day now would be great" but unless they've taken an amniocentesis to check for lung maturity, "any day" before 38wks can be pretty dangerous and risky!

So do your best to try to relax...warm baths, massages like Stacey suggested..great ideas. tell your husband to spoil the heck out of you...also, try to spend some intimate time with him and enjoy it before the baby comes!

Every day baby stays in is better for baby. Every woman starts to go a bit bonkers around 36wks. I made it to 40wks with my first with severe kidney pain from unpassed kidney stones and a surgery at 34wks...and with my 2nd I was having severe neurological complications and I was fainting and losing my vision for hours every day and blacking out from horribly painful headaches and I still managed to hang in there until 39wks 4 days. And both of my babies were born so healthy that I knew it was worth every day!

Please try to hang in there mama..it's tough, but this is the first of many tough things you will do for your sweet little one <3

Thank you! My Dr said he's ready any day now would be a good day for him to come out, which makes it extremely difficult for me to want to keep him in...especially since I'm such a baby myself when I'm sick:)

well your def not alone there :) most women when they get to your stage feel like that, all I can say is rest if you can, take a nice relaxing bath or treat yourself to a pregnancy massage, that can do wonders, you can drink chamomile tea to help de-stress you, if you dont like the taste put some honey in it, or get some with peppermint or spearmint in it as well, also rescue remedy can do wonders its a bach fower remedy and you can get the drops at a health food shop
