Can I take the baby out with us? I am due April 28th and I'd like to know when we can go for walks with her etc.

being a new mom I was nervous about everything So i waited until he had his first visit, and my husband went with me. Now i am comfortable with taking him out by myself. As long as they are dressed for the weather, i think they will be find. now i take my son who is 7 weeks old for walks

With regards to babies not getting germs by not taking them out...it won work! My now 2 week old son had no contact with anyone bu as given a present by neighbours when 4 days old, I literally had the present handed to me in the street by the husband as the wife was full of cold. The very next day he had a stinking cold and still has it now. The gift must have had cold germs on it. Take your baby out when ou feel ready, it all depends how the birth goes for you too as to how soon you want to go out. Good luck!

I now i'm going to go stir crazy if i don't get out of the house! there is no way i'm staying in for a month.   a week, maybe but a month not a CHANCE!   I have to actually make an appearance at a function that I'm the head of 19 days after my due date.  even if i go the 10 days late and get induced that still is about a week after baby is born so everything should be fine then.

You can't live in a bubble, it will only make things harder later on.

Im latina and my fam told me to wait one or two months b4 exposing the baby outdoors. 1. My daughter rarely gets sick and i think it keeps them away from all the germs...

Under my Chinese family "rules", I'm not to leave the house for the first 30 days after the birth and so is the baby. Not sure I'm going to be able to follow that, I bet I will be out of my mind by week 2 and sneak out, just don't tell my mom. Lol.

My son was 5 days old but that's because we got out of the hospital when he was 4 days and I had to go do something I was going crazy so we went to Sams club with my mom. Then I think the next was when he was closer to 2 weeks for his first check up and my husband was gone a lot and I ha a c section so I couldn't just get up and go which I didn't like. I just kept him in the carrier and kept it covered and didn't allow anyone near him.

I took my dd to walmart at three days old. I had to get iron because I was very anemic after delivery and also to get some aleve. I didn't let people touch her just look at her. Then we were back and forth to doctors and other places after about a week.

I took baby out to a restaurant 2 days after she was born. The whole theory of not taking a baby out until they are older is redundant. My doctor said the only way that would work is if you took a private tunnel from the hospital home and to the first couple doctors appointments. Realistically baby is going to be around people. Just make sure people don't touch him/her or breathe on him/her when they are sick and you should be golden!

I waited 2 weeks to take baby to a store. I felt guilty but HAD to get outta the house. I was going nuts...literally. After that one trip I wanna say she was 4-6 wks before any stores. But we took lots of walks before.

whenever you are ready to go for walks so is baby. i would use my cuddly wrap and we'd go for nice walks together. same goes for shopping and visits. i was very connected with my son and just new if he was having a good day or bad day and if it was a good idea to go out or not. you will know when you are ready. there are no rules

You can go the day she is born if you really wanted to! You just have to make sure that the baby is protected from elements such as the sun etc...and dressed appropriately. Don't take them out if too hot or too cold.
