So, I just had my 38 week check up and the baby is already 8 lbs.. I am only 1 cm dilated and my cervix is still very long so my Dr is not even considering inducing me until my due date. I am so nervous because with my last baby I was induced a few days after my due date and it didn't even work. So, I ended up having him 10 days late. I'm so worried that by the time I have this baby he is going to weigh 10 lbs or more and I'm so worried I won't be able to push him out and something will go wrong. :( Have any of you ladies delivered a baby weighing 10 lbs or more? If so, what was your experience?
I have not personally but any time i have heard of ababy being 10 lbs or more they had to do a c section. But i have only heard of 2 so that might not be what always happens. But both times both mom and baby were just fine.
This is exactly what im afraid of! At 32 weeks baby weighed almost 6 lbs. Im terrified of next weeks ultrasound! Ill be 36+3. But my mom delivered my brother at over 10 lbs naturally! I was almost 10 lbs and also natural with no epidural because she was at a 9 when she got to the hospital. So its possible but if you have a small frame then its possible you could need a csection. My first was only 7 lbs 8 oz and i had trouble with her getting stuck. So im afraid of needing a csection!
My little brother was 10lbs 8 oz and my mom had to have a c section, and I was 8lbs 9 Oz and was 2 Weeks early, if I hadnt had the tube around my neck, my mom could have had me vaginally but my bp was dropping so they had me via c section...goodluck!
I know quite a few women that have had a 10lb+ baby, naturally. It's very possible. Also the U/S's are just a estimate, they're not 100% spot on, so try not to stress out. I do know being induced may lead to a c-section, so it's just about weighing the pros and cons! Good luck mama!
My sister was 10lbs even. My father was 12lbs even. My father-in-law was 14lbs even. All were born basically and all mothers and babies were fine. Don't stress, you can do this.
They were saying all through the end of my pregnancy that my son was gonna be pretty big and I had him at 40 weeks exactly and he was only 6 lbs 9 oz so you cant always go by what they say.
My girlfriend had her son March 2011 all natural, no pain meds nothing. He was 9lb3oz 22in. I think you will be just fine, also I was told my son was going to be about 9.5 lbs and he was born 7lb6oz so you can't go 100% but the U/S its just a guess at baby's weight.
My son Measured over 10 lbs and that was at 38 wks. My doc made me carry him 42 wks before she induced me and he came out over 9 lbs. I come from a family of big babies, your body is made for this stuff.(: i wouldn't stress too much.
