ChitChat- that may just be what it is! So exciting, worriedbabe. I didn't experience back labor, that I remember (I had epidurals). I am so happy you're getting that baby out by tomorrow!!!
PS: Could you be starting labor ? That's how all mine started.
I actually was vomiting from it .. the pain was so bad .. it lasted for hours and not much relief even with an epidural. I had back labor with 3 of my 4 .. my first was the worst .. #3 only left me with 20 mins before I delivered and no time for an epidural.
#4 was transverse (laying across my belly) and ended up with enexpected C Section.
C~
i had back labor with my 3rd child thru the whole labor process it was very painful and uncomfortable i dont wish it on anyone they had me on hands and knees thru the whole thing till i felt the urge to push the put me back on the bed my dh at the time was putting so much pressure on my back he thought he would break me but it wasn't hard enough for me afterwards i had a huge bruise from all the pressure from everyone pushing there i would go in and get checked even if they send you home then you know
I had back labor. It is a dull radiating pain that eventually moved to the side of my belly into the front of my belly. The pain came and went until it intensified to the point you can't take it anymore. I thought that when the labor pains first started in my back it was just back pain....but then I noticed they were getting more painful and I noticed there were coming back and forth every 15....10...7 minutes. This is how I knew this was more than back pains. I think if the pains keep persisting and if you keep timing them you should go to the hospital....also especially since this is your fourth pregnancy. GL!!!!
Well it will be terrible pain in the back, raidaiting up and down the spine, mine even went down to my toes, i had it with my first child. My labor was induced so it felt like contractions were overlapping, my son father and his aunt was massaging my back and feet everytime i had a contraction, after 3 hours i had to get the epidural.
When you go in, ask them if they can tell if the baby is anterior or posterior, thats a reason you could be having back pain and may have back labor if your baby is posterior.
Fast forward to the furture, what i have learned is back labor is from the baby being positioned posterior, his/her spine facing your spine, it can also delay labor, the baby should be anterior, his/her spine facing your stomache, after i learned this, i went back to the hospital where i had my son to look at my medical records just to make sure he was a full term baby from what i remembered and to see what they put down on how he was positioned, yeap, he was posterior.(i was 19 when i had him so nothing made since to me when they were telling me things, i didnt even no what a foley was and dont think they explained it to me)
Good luck
i had back labor as well. at first it was a dual achy pain that escalated to this excruciating pain that was radiating up and down my spine. with each contraction it felt like it was getting worse and worse. After a while i couldn't walk. (thank god i was at the hospital by time that happened) they had to rush me into my room to get my epidural in. after that...all was good.
good luck!
When it happened to me, my lower back was constantly sore and achy...no position made it better. Everytime I got a contraction, it would radiate around my entire lower back. It's so uncomfortable and I just wasn't feeling like myself. I think it's worth giving them a call, maybe, just maybe you will go into labor on your own!!! I hope so. =)
