being induced-update

Sorry ladies I know A LOT of you were waiting for an update . I'm still very pregnant and 38 weeks+1 days pregnant. I'm planning on being induce next saturday . I've never been the 1 wanting to be induced but u can never say never . I know that it may make labor very long or it can be very short. It can go both ways. My question to u ladies is have u ever been induced and how did it go 4 you?? I know every1 is different and I just want to hear your stories.

I know every1 has different opinions about being induced. I can't wait to see what every1 has to say :)

Don't feel selfish!  If I can get them to agree to induce ME, i'll be right there with you!  I"m due today and I still am not dilated or thinning at all!  I go to the doctor again tomorrow so i'm hopefull they will agree to induce me.

I was induced twice when I had my son because the first induction didn't take. The first one was 8 days after my due date around 4 pm. The second one was 9 days after around 10 am. I started on the pitocin drip, and the doctor ruptured my membranes (around 11 am) I ended up having an epidural (around 12 pm). I slept through most of my labour because of the epidural. The doctor finally decided around 6 pm that he should do a c section because baby's heartbeat was dropping to an unsafe level because of the pitocin. I dilated very slowly. Even when I had the csection around 6:30 pm, I was only about 6 cm dilated. Baby just did not want to come out. Guess he was pretty cozy in there! I think in total my labour was around 11 hours. Unfortunately I did not get to see him right away when he was born because he was whisked away to check apgar scores and get weighed. And I had to be stitched up. And I don't remember this, but hubby apparently asked me if I wanted to hold him and I said no. I do however remember being so drugged up that I felt like I was going to puke on the operating table.

I do know being induced can make labour harder and more painful, but as snagglepuss stated, so worth the outcome. There's no better feeling in the world then meeting your little one for the first time

I've been induced with all 3 of my children and fully expect to be induced with this baby too.
My first baby was back to back in labour which made it take longer, she was born after 18 1/2 hours by ventouse. With my 2 ds's I laboured much quicker (thanks to a birthing ball with them and just gas and air) My first ds took 9 1/2 hours and my 2nd ds took 5 1/2 hours.
Labour is called labour for a reason, it's hard work and it hurts but is so worth the outcome.
Hope all goes well for you and you get to meet you baby soon :D

I was induced for my third.  I started getting pitocin at 8:30 a.m. I finally delivered around six that night.  I didn't think the contractions were any worse than going natural. I am scheduled to be induced for this baby on Thursday.  I can't wait! This time I am already dilated almost four cm and am 75% effaced as of last Friday. Hopefully things will progress as quickly as my doctor believes they will.  Good luck to you, I am sure you will do great!

congrats :)
i was induced 9 days early(alex was a chub already, at 8.5 pounds and 37 weeks!). they broke my water at 812am, and at 8pm, i opted for a c-section. it varies by the woman. some have the baby minutes after being induced, some have it HOURS after. my mom was induced w/my sister at 7am, and my sister was born at almost midnight that night.
