You dont get a period during pregnancy because you don't ovulate. It is possible to bleed during pregnancy but its not a period and is usually caused by something. It would also not interfere with the accuracy of a pregnancy test. I bled during my first pregnancy worse than a period for almost 5 weeks straight. Had a positive the whole time though and was diagnosed via ultrasound with a subchorionic hematoma which was causing the bleeding.

I did with my first pregnancy which is why I didn't really figure out I was pregnant til I was almost 3 months along. I had what I thought was my period a little late and bled for 4 1/2 days which was very normal for me and when the doctor told me how far along I was I thought he was crazy

You don't (except in very rare cases) have a true period while pregnant. It's not possible due to what having a period actually consists of.
