blood stained mucous

my husband aand i  are trying to get pregnant for the past 2 years  i'm only 23 years old he is 35,  we've both been  tested, poked and prodded by   hundreds of doctors, yet  there's nothing wrong with either  of us ... yesterday  when i was in the bath i noticed  a light pink  mucous (if you will ) coming from the vagina.  i am rather worried  and half excited as my mother told me this could be an early sign of pregnancy....   i just don't know what to think anymore i want a baby so badly. what could this be... i've never ever had it before ....

thanks  for all your input , the  only problem is  i finished menstruating  about 3 weeks ago  it is roughly the time  that i should start , but i'm feeling no cramps and i'm usually as regular as clockwork i'm 3 days late.  but thanks for the info on implantation bleeding  i'd never even  heard of it before today.  i'm going to hope for the best, but if i'm  unsuccessful  this time then i'm going to start going for IVF.... do any of you have any other tips for me ... ???

here is something i found about implantation bleeding.

What does implantation bleeding or spotting look like?
Implantation bleeding, also called implantation spotting, does not look like a regular menstrual period. Implantation bleeding is scanty and usually pink or brownish discharge.

Implantation bleeding or menstrual period?
Implantation bleeding normally occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation is likely implantation bleeding; whereas, spotting that occurs very close to the time that your period would normally start may not be. A normal menstrual cycle generally starts off light and then gets heavier. Spotting can sometimes be the sign of an early period. If this is the case, the spotting will pick up to heavier bleeding. If you have spotting right around the time your period would normally start, it can be more confusing. You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy.

Its hard to say.  Some women have implantation bleeding about 5-10 days after conception so it could be that.  It could  be any number of other things too.

You can probably take a test in a week from now.

Good luck to you.

Im wondering the same thing, I had the same thing but it wasn't coming from me it was on the tissue. I thought that it was my period because i am a week late today and i tested positive on the 14th and the 15th and negative on the 15th when I took another test and even test there after. it is completely gone now so it was my period, maybe it was implantation bleeding for you, but i don't know what it was for me.
