breast feeding w/o cycles.. can you get pregnant?

Okay.. so here is my history and story: I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 14 or 15. I had a son 4yrs ago, this was after sheding a ton of weight and the pregnancy was not planned, nor intended at the time. I love my son to pieces and wouldn't change that oops for the world. Recently I had another baby, planned- she is almost 4 months old and we took clomid to create her, it was the 2nd round that took. It also was the first time I seen EGCW (egg white cervical mucus) and the first time I got a slightly positive ovulation prediction test.

Now that I am breast feeding I didnt want to get on any birth control that could harm my supply, I've had enough supply issues with out it. I also didnt want to get my tubes tide. I still havent had a period since her birth, with PCOS and breast feeding I know that makes the chances of a cycle even more rare.. but if I am having EWCM and spotting every month, once a month, no more than 24-48hrs- does that mean I am cycling eggs and could still get pregnant? We're not trying to get pregnant nor do we think we need a 5th child- so we're using condoms. I am not sure what else to do, since I dont have any signs telling me when an egg might drop and to avoid that time if I didnt have an actual period.

Ladies any advice? or if you need additional info- just ask, I am not shy.
Thanks,

I know it sounds like a terrible way to prevent but for DH and I...it's quite foolproof! ( SO FAR) but we use the pull out method and are really careful around the time I think I'd be ovulating. But then again, I'm not all that against being pregnant again. I'm not done having children.

If you are exclusively breastfeeding around the clock (and I do mean around the clock; middle of the night, maybe two times or more) then the chances of ovulating are pretty slim. However it's so hard to know when you might be! I so feel you on that. I exclusively breastfed my youngest before introducing solids around 9-10 months and then got my period. I got pregnant when she was 14 months-old and am now 20 weeks with our fourth daughter.

Anyway all that to say - you could do condoms and just watch for EWCM. You typically have CM before the EWCM so there's some pre-warning that ovulation is around the bend. The last day of EWCM is the day you ovulate. Once you ovulate the discharge stops.

I have PCOS and I'm breastfeefing also. I declined birth control as well. My cycle returned at 7w pp.  It came every month up until the last two months. I tested and thankfully I'm not pregnant, but my cycle is still absent. I opted out of BC for the same reason you did. I conceived my baby on clomid as well but I have conceived on my own too. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. If you're ovulating, you can get pregnant. Maybe try temping to see if you are ovulating when you see the ewcm. I would say use an opk but that would be difficult and possibly expensive without knowing when to start.

Also, the question above may seem dumb or ignorant considering I have two kids and love babies. I am know any sex can lead to pregnancy- I just wanting additional info/advice or help as to what I can do to prevent it. Thanks
