breast leaking/producing milk?

When can I start?  I know everyone is different but ill be 28 weeks as of friday and I feel something is wrong since my boobs an  nipples arent sore at all anymore like they were in beginning of pregnancyn but my main question is if they randomly start to leak which they can at any time..  would my breasts or nipples hurt prior to that?
Next question is how can someone prepare to make nipples stronger for breastfeeding? My sister said she scrubbed hers with a lufa during pregnancy to make them tougher. I will do all I can to accomplish breastfeeding alot of women say use the nipple guards so it doesnt hurt as bad as going bare skin feeding but id rather just find methods to get my nipples prepared for it.

My nipples don't hurt when I leak, and I've been leaking on and off since 20 weeks, I'm 26 weeks now. But that might be because my boobs and nipples didn't hurt as much as it does for alot of women.

Lansinoh was my friend also. I also agree with a support system because no one around me really breastfed and I also breastfed for 14 or15 months up until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I had a lot of negativity about it and people askin when i was going to get her off the boob. I always told them when she goes off to college and they shut up real quick lol. Breastmilk on your nipples can also help and let the milk dry on. I wouldnt toughen them up durin pregnancy but thats just me i would just wait for baby because I cant imagine scrubbing something against my nipples it kind of makes me cringe.

The lanolin does help keep them from drying out, I like the medela kind it's not so sticky. Your body knows what to do so don't worry if you only have a couple swallows of colostrum when baby is born your milk will come in so don't let anyone push you to supplement that early! The first few days are hard but if you get a good latch it gets easy within a week or so :) good luck!

Yes. Lanisoh brand (not sure if I spelled it right) is even endorsed by la leche league as safe for babies. You don't have to wipe it off to feed the baby. I lived on that stuff for three or four months after my daughter was born. Feel free to message me. :)

I started leaking around 30 weeks with my first. It caught me off guard because I wasn't expecting it at all. Just got out of the shower one night and surprise LoL!! My boobs never gave me any sort of indication that they were going to start leaking because I have never experieced breast or nipple tenderness till after I gave birth. As far as your question around making your nipples stronger, Im not quite sure how to answer that one. Personally I had more of a problem keeping them from drying out. They would constantly crack and bleed. I would keep some Lanolin handy for sure!

When are you due? I'm available if you would like some extra support. I nursed my daughter for fourteen months until my hubby decided he wanted my girls back lol. But I'm planning on having a gap after this one of at least four or five years, so I think I'll nurse longer this time. I'm pretty sure weaning my daughter is why I'm pregnant again. I weaned her about a week before I conceived and haven't used birth control since last July.

I never leaked during pregnancy and I never did anything to 'toughen' my nipples either. Believe me, the first two weeks your baby will more than toughen them! The first few feedings are surprisingly painful. After about two weeks though, any issues you may have had with breastfeeding are staying to resolve. Take a breastfeeding class or read up on it. I'm sure there are YouTube videos that show how to latch properly and some of the holds you might use.
If your sister nursed/is nursing that is a huge asset! Gather around you women who nursed successfully for at least six months and they can help you so much! I was fortunate enough when I had my first that my sister and sister in law had both had babies within the last year and were still nursing. My mom also breastfed all three of us so she helped a lot those first two weeks! You CAN do it mama!

I'm not sure of the second question, but your first... Funny you asked lol. I'm 28.2 days, my nipples or boobs haven't been sore or anything since like, 16 weeks and this morning I woke up and one had leaked quite a bit. Definitely a shock to me, lol.
