Mine wouldnt use a bottle or paci,(im glad, my neice and nephew wanted a paci and bottles till ages 4 and 5 and now have ruined teeth to prove it because their lazy mothers gave them milk juice coke tea whatever to take to bed at night, another story lol) Mine did like a cup but it was only a certain kind.  We were able to cup train both boys at 4-5 months.  I was never successful at pumping anyway.  I am glad it worked out that way, less I had to take away if you know what I mean and weaning was actually easy, which was weird.  My first son self weaned at 10 1/2 months, he wanted real food lol and my 2nd son at 14 months.  It was harder on me than them.  Good luck to you.

I have always felt that pumping and using a bottle ruined my whole breastfeeding plans with my first. I was so determined not to make the same thing happen with number two, and only put him on the breast and things went so much better. A lactation lady told me if I had to feed him any other way than on the breast, to not use a bottle or nipple but to just drizzle the milk in using a tiny spoon. That way there was no confusion for my little baby. It made all the difference in the world. Good luck!

I had my first 4 at 13, 15 and 17 months apart. I was therefore pregnant with number 4 and still nursing numbers 2 and 3:)

I loved tandem feeding! Now they say that your milk can drop due to progesterone going up during pregnancy but it was just like a growth spurt and was fine for me. Do you plan on weaning or baby led weaning and tandem feeding the two? I miss when I nursed the two as the older one would pat he sister and my little one would hold onto her sister hand both falling asleep for the night that way! I miss it very much!

It is very true about having formula and bottles in the home! I have heard that and seen it from many friends and in my BF group. And of course when you deliver they give will give you alot of stuff for formula feeding. I got lucky though with my last one I did not get the Similac dipaer bag with the goodies, well a good thing maybe. I should of gotten something;)LOL

I'll tell you something very important- do not introduce a bottle if you don't have to. I failed at breastfeeding my first two daughters and I think it is because all those baby registries and "What to Buy for Baby" lists said you have to have bottles so I had bottles. Well the truth is that you do not have to have them. In fact I would recommend you do not have bottles or formula in your home at all until after you establish a good breastfeeding rhythm. If you have to return to work then you'd obviously need to introduce a bottle at some point.

When pregnant with my third daughter I decided to not have formulas and bottles in my home. Breastfeeding hurt for me (another reason I gave up early on with the other two) but I kept at it. By 4 weeks old the discomfort was gone and she is STILL breastfeeding at 15-months-old. I nurse her in the morning, afternoon and before bed and any other time in there that she wants to.

Good luck! I would read up on a lot of breastfeeding articles and books if you haven't already.

they can get nipple confusion and you should not offer a bottle or pacifier till at least 6 weeks or 4 of you have to introduce to return to work. Not all babies will do both and some refuse a bottle and some refuse the breast after they have had a bottle. IF you need a bootle as well you get a slow flow nipple no matter of the age as it is harder to suck from the breast then the bottle and you want them to work and not be lazy and refuse the breast.
