I just started. I had my son 11 days ago. It doesn't hurt its just an unusual feeling. And its definitely easy to wanna give up but I'm hanging in there because its best for my son. I love the bonding time(:
I loved breastfeeding my 2nd lil girl, she latched on right and I never had any problems. I breast fed her until she was 16 months and found out I was preggo again. I am going to breast feed my lil guy as well.
I found it very easy and positive. My daughter latched on right away supply was good I was able to pump and freeze enough that she almost made it to 1 on just breast milk. My supply dried up when she was 6 months or I would have continued. Only problem I had was milk didn't come in right away so day 2 I was very swollen after that got resolved smooth sailing! Plan on doing it with this one.
With my daughter i tried very hard to breastfeed. I also ended up with cracked nipples & mine bled. I then developed mastitis which was horrible! But all & all it is worth it to give as much as you can to your baby & i will try again.
I'm breastfeeding as we speak. I love it. This is my second beast fed son.
when I had my first I was 21 and had no idea what I was doing, I ended up with cracked nipples etc, but I knew I wanted to b/feed so I perservered and have now b/fed 10 so if you want to do it dont give up :)
Yes i will ask a whole bunch of questions. The main reason i wanna do it is cuz its healthier for the baby. And i loose weight faster lol. Im excited about breastfeeding...like REALLY excited :)
Almost everything is hard at first. Some women might lose weight, however many others do not - it shouldn't be the deciding factor in choosing to BF though. Breastfeeding is demanding and takes a lot of time and dedication. Unlike formula, breastmilk is very easy for baby to digest therefor they will eat and nurse frequently. Usually every 1-3 hours, and when they cluster feed it can be as often as every 30 minutes, For the first 6 weeks baby is generally glued to you. This helps to build your supple as well as well as establish routine with the child. The cons are that, unless you choose to pump, it's only you that feeds the baby. If you choose to supplement, it can also lower your BM supply as breastfeeding is all about supply and demand. First time mothers often worry baby is not getting enough because they can't see, and assume that because baby is always hungry they don't make enough - fact is very very few women ever actually don't produce enough. Position, latch, supplement and support all affect it. Even an uphappy home will cause you to produce less due to the stress.
I BF for 8 months before I was forced to wean (I was hospitalized with a kidney infection and inflamed liver and pancreas) and I loved it. It was hard in the beginning (I had bad pain and bleeding from improper positioning) but well worth it once we got it worked out and down. My advice, ask questions about everything and BE CONFIDENT in yourself.
I wana breastfeed too! But hope i can hold out through the pain. My sil was going to but she said it hurt and she was too tired.. which i think is abit of bull.... i wana give my buba the best start i can :)
Oh ok thanks. I keep hearing its hard at first but it gets better. Plus i heard it helps u loose weight so i said oh yea, im definitely breastfeeding lol
I was 18 yrs old w my first and it was easy for me. I knew I wanted to so I made it happen. Ya it hurt at first but it gets easier they have so many ppl to help you adjust I'm sure you will do just fine!!
