If you talk to your doctor and they say it's okay...it's still up to u. Don't rush it if you don't feel like u should. good luck♡♡
Maybe ask your doctor about it :) then you can get the Info you need from a source you can trust.
lol now i have a angel and a devil on each shoulder. i wanted to try it at 39 weeks but i guess i should just be patient
The only reason why I heard people.were against it was because they could have a bowel movement.... that's totally normal for them to have one at 37 weeks from what I've read in this app. When u are in labor and you are stressed your baby might just poop cause it's stressed. It's not just castor oil that does that. People don't do it not correct and do it before 39/40 weeks when they are not even close or dilated. You have to be at least 39 weeks and dilated to 2 cm I believe is what my doctor said. But that should be last resort. I personally am not brave enough to attempt... i wouldnt wanna be in the bathroom for 6 hours.
I guess every doctor is different then.
I've never read anywhere where they encouraged the use of castor oil to self induce. In fact, any doctor I've seen has advised against it.
How far along was your friend when she took it and how do they know for a fact it was because of castor oil.
My doctor said never to use it.
My doctor advised against it and I personally know someone who had a stillbirth because they took castor oil.. I would just be careful. Not saying everyone who takes it is going to have complications but just be cautious.
Babies can have their first bowel movement on their own at 37 weeks no matter what. It's not necessarily just the castor oil that does that... castor oil is in all kinds of pregnancy books stated, as a safe way to induce. Even the most recent book written by doctors, What to Expect When You're Expecting. My doctor said it's fine if u take it after 39 weeks.

I took it at 39 weeks I'm still pregnant. It just made me throw up
It could hurt your baby. Castor oil can cause the baby to have a bowel movement and that can cause a bad lung infection when ingested. Be careful!
Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. U need to be at least 39 weeks.
