cervix is shortt?

what does it mean that my cervix is short? i am 32weeks pregnant and the doctor told me cervix is supose to be between 4 and 6 and mine is 2 and i could go into preterm labor...has anyone had this? did you go early? what casues this? any information on this would help thanks

My good friend has a short cervix n she only can do a csection. She always goes to full term. She is currently pregnant with her 3rd. Other than that i dont kno anything else about having a short cervix.
