confused about my ultrasound

I have my ultrasound last January 12, 2009 and my OB says that  it was boy because she shows a a signs at his early stage ( the penis). my question is: Is the result true even if i have at my 17 6/7 weeks fregnant at that time? Is there a tendency that at this stage a change of gender?  sorry for asking thisbut i am only confused about it, its because this is my first baby.

I have here the ultrasound report here:

LMP: September 9, 2009 OB Score: GIPO
BIOMETRY: Within the gravid uterus is a single live fetus in footling breech presentation iwth good cardiac(FHR=165/bpm) and somatic activities noted.
BPD(Biparietal Diameter):4.4= 19 weeks & 2 days;
HC(Head Circumference):15.9 cm =18 weeks & 5 days
AC(Abdominal Circumference):13.0 cm= 18 weeks & 3 days
SEFW(Sonographic Estimated Fetal Weight) : 239 g (Hadlock)
FL(Femoral Length) : 2.7 cm = 18 weeks & 1 day
Placenta: Anterior Grade !, High Lying
AFI(Amniotic Fluid Index) : 4.0 cm(single vertical pocket)
UTZ EDC: June 10, 2009

IMPRESSIONS:
single live intrauterine pregnancy footling breech presentation with good somatic & cardiac activities, 18 5/7 weeks by biometry:
PLACENTAis anterior, Grade 1, High lying;
Normohydramnios;
Sonographic estimates fetal weight is 239  grams.

I just had an ultrasound at 18 wks 3 days and it showed that it was a boy, no questions about it. Even Mom and I could see the  bulged! LoL

I was reading your other post and wasn't sure what you were trying to ask. But yes, I would think if they got a clear shot of your baby at almost 18 weeks...Then it is pretty accurate. Boys are easier to distinguish earlier on. Congrats!

at 17 weeks you can tell easily on an ultrasound
