I was responding to the poster, about MY lifting restrictions, as she was not told any, some doctors see so many patients a day they forget to state some of the obvious things, and I'm sure now she will ask HER doctor. An orgasm contraction is not a painful contraction, and it's not set on by heavy lifting, so it's best to ask.
And again, all doctors are different - she needs to speak to HER doctor and see what they say. Some doctors have no restrictions, others say no more than 10-15 pounds. It varies and depending on how her pregnancy is she might have different ones. I was never told any restrictions.
I've talked to women who have contracted as early as 13 weeks, the uterus is always contracting - orgasms are a contraction by definition and cause the same effect. The more pregnancies you have the earlier they can start.
I've never heard of a contraction at 15 weeks though, definitely ask your doctor if they're painful. And all 3-4 OB's I've looked into in early pregnancy told me NO lifting anything over 30lbs, so I wouldn't just to be safe.
Different doctors and conditions have different guidelines. It's best to ask your doctors opinion. As for contractions, 5 in 3 days isn't really bad. It would be more concerning if they were close together in the same day or same hour. Just drink lots of water and relax.
I didnt know there was a rule when it came to what is safe to lift...
I would mention them to your doctor to be safe, try drinking water and laying on your left side, take it easy for a few days, are you still getting them? You really need to make sure you're sticking to the no lifting over 30lbs rule, moving furniture is not worth your baby's life!
