contractions!

So i thought maybe it was just braxton hicks contractions but its starting to occur to me that these are possibly the real deal. So i got 4 that were 10 minutes apart about 20 seconds long and the pain wrapped all the way around my back (hardened my stomach and felt like i got kicked in the back) but it wasnt the worst pain ive ever felt just made me sit down. i then got 2 sharp stabbing pains in my vagina (just like my other post) upon laying down with my glass of water...then i got my 5th one about 15 minutes after the 4th one which would put me at 5 contractions last 20 seconds each in about a 55-60 minute period. i remained in bed and drank my water and had about 3-4 more of the sharp stabbing pains in my vagina but no more contractions. after an hour of laying in bed and no contractions i decided to get up and start doing things (dishes, laundry...etc.) while bouncing back and fourth to the computer ..the usual. that brings me to now...i just had two more painful (but not too painful) ones 20ish seconds long...10 minutes apart. and now one more as i am typing about 16 minutes after the last one.
is it time to go in? or do i just stay in bed and stop doing chores?...another sharp vagina pain just happened ( i think those hurt more than the contractions but are much quicker at like 10 seconds) please help...trying not to freak out DF isnt home and he's so much better at the contraction thing than me!

I hope things have slowed down now. Like the others have already said, if there is a regular pattern to them, you really should get checked out. Keep us posted and I hope you little one stays in a while longer. :)

You should call your doctor if they are coming in a regular pattern.. if it is labor they earlier you get there the better chance they have of stopping it,... the further you progress the harder it is to medically stop labor... hope you are feeling better this am... but I would call your dr to at least be seen in the office.

Oh I hope that everything is okay with you and that your little one calms down and stays in there for at least another month for you!

well they went a way for a while (like an hour and a half) and then they started coming back very slowly...one every 20-30 minutes and now they are starting to pick up again so im pretty sure im gonna eat and lay down for another half hour and if they get stronger than every ten minutes or just keep coming im gonna go in....im pretty sure ill end up in L&D at some point tonight...i'll update everyone when i can! *hugs*

Oh goodness I hope you are going to go in so they can monitor you and check you out... They will more than likely give you a shot to stop the contractions... I had it 3 times with my last son and the 4th week it started my water broke and he was extremely healthy. The longer he stays in there the better :) Keep us updated.

I agree with the other ladies you need to call if they're coming regularly...BH don't usually come regularly or increase in frequency (but they can) so your doctor may want you to come in for monitoring just in case. Good luck sweetie <3

I had preterm labor at 19 weeks... Call your dr.. they can very quickly progress to the real thing even small ones that are sporadic ... Good Luck...

I would call asap. Given you are only 33 weeks they will want you to come in and be monitored. They dont care if its a false alarm or not and you shouldnt either. You want to keep your LO in there as long as possible. BH lead to the real deal and if they are coming regularly get checked. Good luck and keep us posted

im only 33 weeks! but im unsure if this could just be braxton hicks or not...id hate to go in and have the contractions stop again or it be nothing. i dunno how to tell when i should be worried or not?
