contractions

Hi ladies! I hope you had wonderful Mothers Day! Ok I wasn't small before I got pregnant..I was down right chubby lol..so now my stomach is hard at the top and flabby at the bottom..what I was wondering was when I'm having contractions I know my stomach is suppose to get hard but will the flabby part at the bottom get hard too? I'm 39 weeks 1 day so I'm hoping labor will be soon (I've been cramping a lot but nothing that progresses)

its your uterus muscle that gets hard, so if your have abit of wobbly skin down the bottom now, that wont get hard when contractions begin :)

I wondered the same thing! With having had two babies back to back and a third right after I've wondered sometimes " Am I having contractions or is baby just moving??" So its good to know lol. My flab is partially from.gaining weight with all these babies and because of my C-Sections

I'm the same way! Even though I lost 45 lbs b4 I found out its still flabby at the bottom. I'm 38 weeks n sometimes it gets hard but not as hard as the top part of my tummy. When I'm layin down everything is hard! I guess it jus depends on how strong the contraction is. Good luck!

No, nothing we can do about our fluffy parts. :) I remember contractions started as low, regular cramping that would go away completely in between, then to spread to farther up as labor progressed.
