Hi thanks for your reply, yeh I think I did do the initial test a little too early. I think I might try and wait till the middle/end of this week to see if anything changes and if not do another test. Excuse the graphic detail but I have had whiter and thicker discharge than normal. I am trying to expolore different ideas/opinions before I go the doctors as I hate going.
Did you take the test immediately following your lightbleed? If so, it was too early. Have you taken any tests since then? If it's been 2 weeks since the intercourse and the bleed, now would be the time to take a test. It takes time for the egg to be fertilized, travel to the uterus, implant and produce the hormone that tests look for. Usually 10-14 after ovulation, so 2 weeks after intercourse is the best time to test, keeping in mind it could still be a few days early depending on when you actually ovulate and implant.
Depo has been known to really mess with women' cycle as well, so it could just be your body finally starting to try getting on track. Pregnancy symptoms can be so similar to pms and other pre-menstrual symptoms that they are easily mistaken for each other.
I would be calling my Dr. anyway, to find out what the deal is with my body getting back on track, and if there is anything that can be done to help it along, if you are not pregnant.
Good luck!
I came of the depo shot almost 12 months ago and have had no other chemical contreceptives and havn't had a period since coming off the depo.
