doctor says baby is not growing and should do a cleanup ..

Hi,

Sub:doctor says baby is not growing and should do a cleanup ..

Well I tested positive for pregnancy on 27th of feb..
But then on 4th of march I spotted vaginal discharge of light brown

water like liquid..
So I went to doctor for checkup..she did a sonography and said Single

intrauterine gestational sac is seen corresponding with less than

5weeks..
And SMALL YOLK SAC IS SEEN and No fetal pole is visualized at present

study..
LMP:24/01/2010 GA(LMP):5.4 weeks EDD(LMP):31/10/2010
And she gave me “Duphanston” Tablets and told me to continue until next

15days and she will do another sonography..
And also asked me to take complete bed rest..

After 9 days we did another sonography and doctor says there is no

growth and there is no change in size..
And the report said:
LMP:24/01/2010 GA(LMP):6.5 weeks EDD(LMP):31/10/2010

Single intrauterine gestational sac is seen corresponding with less

than 5weeks
No fetal pole is visualized..

Doctor says it could be unhealthy baby and cleanup needs to be done..

What should I do ..

First of all no one an tell you what to do.  You have to think about it long and hard and do what is right for you. The same thing happened to me a few months back.  I went in for my 11 week ultrasound (atleast I thought I was 11 weeks) and the ulrta sound showed I was more around 6 weeks.  No heart beat detected.  Only a sac seen on the screen.  The doctor told me there was no hope and I should go in for a DnC.  If I thought I was 11 weeks and the ultrasound only showed 6 with no heartbeat somethng wasnt right.  So I went ahead with the DnC. I dont regret it.  It was the right thing to do.  I wish you the best of luck.  Please let us know what happens. I am going to be thinking about you.
