drug tests on newborns

I dont do any drugs or drink, I even quit snmoking ciagarettes when i found out i was pregnant. However my family that i live with smokes weed and I have been around the smoke and the past week i have asked them to smoke in a differnt room just felt bad becuase its not my house. I just  want to know if when my baby is born if she will test positive for thc. keep in mind i was just breathing in the smell not the actual smoke. I have also have passed a urine test about a month ago and it was negative for thc.

Not all hospitals do routine drug testing in newborns.  Most will only do it if there is any suspicion of drug use.  Like Nickie said though, you need to be open and honest with your doc.  That way he/she can prepare for the off chance that baby could have side affects like withdrawals...which is really doubtful but it's better to be prepared.

Usually the thc will come up in small doses if you inhale the smoke... But the smell will not cause you to test positive. I would mention it to your doctor just in case you do pop positive (which is a very lowwwww rate in which this could happen) but I think that you are in the clear =)
