emergency contraceptive concerns

here's a chronology of what happened:
>april18 - last day of my period
>may 5 - my boyfriend and i used the pull-out (un?)method while doing sex. it is my first-time.
>may 6-8 - worried a lot. never had sex education so i went over the internet for info. i got freaked out with the precum issue having sperms on it and the probability of getting pregnant first time. looked up more and found that there is an ECP available
>may 9 - took postinor-2
>may 10 - took escapelle (i took escapelle because i didn't want to take chances)
>may 16 - still got no period and freaking out

questions:
1. what are the odds of getting pregnant considering my case? i read that postinor-2 reduces its effective by 50% if taken after 72 hours. i took it after 96 hours. then took escapelle after 120 hours. i read that sperms may survive from 3-5 days if it still has not found an egg.
2. do you think the ECPs i took have an effect on my cycle?
3. when is the right time to do a pregnancy test?

i hope you guys can help me with this.

Hey! Good luck! I really don't think that you are pregnant either (I used the pull out method for a long time too) and didn't get pregnant. I hope the best for you!

thank you so much for the reply. my boyfriend is telling me not to worry since he's done it with his former girlfriend (they had a 5-year relationship). however, since i am not very familiar in things like these and the knowledge i have of it is solely based on the info from the net, it is hard for me to know what exactly is going on since mixed info is found.

Stress can affect your cycle and postpone you period. I think taking morning after pills wouldn't have been effective if taken that late, but really I doubt you are pregnant. You had sex roughly four days after you would have ovulated if you normally have 28 day cycles. In order for you to have gotten pregnant your cycles would have to be about 32 days or more. The chances of getting pregnant using the pull out method are very very low, like 1% or less if done properly. I used the pull out method with my hubby for four years with no pregnancies. I'm pregnant now, but we were trying to get pregnant.

Well I hate to be the one to tell you this but Escapelle has the same effectiveness as postinor-2 when taken after the 72 hour mark.
1. The chances of getting pregnant using the pull out method is usually less-BUT women do get pregnant all of the time using this method.
2. The after morning pills that you took definitely can have an effect on your cycle. Most women have break through bleeding after taking the morning after pill but not all.
3. The best time to take a home pregnancy test is 14 days after unprotected sex (so May 19th if you do not start your period).
**Also I think that you looking into a more secure form of birth control (pill, foam, condoms) to help you from having these problems if you are planning on having sex and aren't ready for children yet.
