It took me 15 months to conceive after getting off the depo shot and I had 2 periods a month for a while after I got off of it. My doctor told me some women have a really hard time getting pregnant after the shot. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!!

@ first I thought the depo was a mistake too but for the time I used it it did what I wanted it to do yes it did mess up my period but that's ok I choose the depo bc I can't remember to take a pill & I will be doing it again I also did ir the first time bc we thought we apsolutly would not b able to have another child due to the fact I had an ovarian cyst but recently found out it has disappeared with only a 30% chance to come back
Heya I came off the depo in may 2010 and only just got my periods in July 2011 and got my BFP yesterday, your body will take time to get back to normal in time. Going on the depo injection was a mistake I won't be making again, I hope it hsppens quick for you hun x
I think it's probably too early to worry yet. My Dr. took me off of depo about a year before we wanted to ttc as it can take quite some time for your body to reregulate after taking it. It's also not at all uncommon for healthy normal couples to take a year to conceive. Honestly, give yourself some time, and I am betting it will be just fine. Frustrating I know, but I would bet all works out. Good luck.
Well I found out my insurance doesn't cover fertility dr's but I also found out my ovarian cyst is gone & only has a 30% chance of comming back so there is still hope :) I need all the baby dust we can get thanks girls for all the support!!!!
OK, well keep on the positive side and keep trying but definatly don't beat yourself up about it!! When I was going through my M/C and we were wondering if we would have another baby, we decided we would adopt if it didn't happen again, made me feel better, and the fact that we have our daughter when so many people don't have one baby made me realize how lucky we are.
I don't know that I can carry to full term my son was two months early so ya & idk that I can get preg again cause when I was preg with my son I had an ovarian cyst so but I love my son with all my heart so I guess if I can't he can just be spoiled
When you want a baby it always seems like a life time, trust me I have been there. It really can be a big factor when you get off of birth control. It takes while for your body to get back to normal and until it does it is usually difficult to get pregnant, especially if your periods are still off. Be patient and realize it can take time, at this point you know you are able to get pregnant and carry full term and that should make you feel better. Other then being patient I would say to keep track of you cycles and try to figure out when you are ovulating so when you are TTC you are doing it on your most fertile days! And you are FAR from a failure!! Start asking around on this site and you will be shocked at how long it has taken some to get pregnant and how many of us have experienced M/C, it always seems like an easy thing to make a baby but reality tells you its not.
Good Luck and I hope your positive comes up really soon!
Thanks ladies this has made me feel a little better :)
My DH and I tried for a year and a half before going to a specialist after my MC. Now I'm about 19 weeks. Just hold in there... sometimes it's not as easy as people may think.
You're not a failure! Keep your head up! I too was on the depo, and it took 9 months for my husband and I to get pregnant after I stopped getting the shots. Maybe wait a little bit until your "monthly"s are back to normal, and start trying then. Mine were all outta wack when o got off the depo and that alone can be a little flustering. Also, maybe you can look up info about getting pregnant after the depo. Hope your dreams and prayers come true... Good luck! :)
My husband an I tried for 7months to conceive after having 1miscarriage. It was heartbreakin. But yes, as Amy said, it can take up to 12months. To conceive. Be patient, it will happen in time, the more u stress over it, the less chances of concieving. Because then the sex will become a chore and stop being fun. Good luck xx
It's only been a few months. I know it feels like an eternity but it can take a healthy couple up to a year and sometimes more to have a baby. If it takes longer than a year you may want to talk to a fertility dr. It took my husband and I 2 1/2 years to have another healthy pregnancy. Our son was 1 when we decided to try again and had 3 miscarriages before we saw a fertility dr this past march and are now finally expecting our 2nd baby in march. So I would say just be patient and see what happens first. I also had a friend who had been trying for about 5-6 months and had given up and scheduled an appt to get back on birth control and found out at that appointment that she was expecting.
I'm so sorry, TTC can be so heart breaking. Keep in a mind a healthy couple in "prime" age can take up to 1 year to get pregnant. You know have a %20 chance each month of getting pregnant. You should try charting your BBT or taking OPK's.
