This is my first baby and I have already decided to go natural. My family has history of back problems and being pregnant has made my back hurt from time to time. So I don't want to totally mess my back up from an epidural. Plus, the thought of a long needle going into my spine makes me want to cry. Lol

I have had the epidural twice, and it saved me both times. The first baby I had bsck labor, my second was just too painful and stressful that Ok was actually hurting the baby, I needed the epidural. And I'll tell you, after the epidural my son was born in oh... Maybe an hour. And to that lady who said age couldn't dilate because if it, bull. I went from 7 cm to fully dilated in no time. For my third child it went so fast I didn't need one. I am in favor of epidurals... Every pregnancy is different, and every body is different. But no matter what the choice is yours, and yours alone. Just tell your husband how you feel!!!

I would express to him that you dont want to because of all the risks that can come with it and just tell him you will need him to be strong for you as you do what is best for the baby. Does he know much about epidurals? My husband and I watch a documentary and after t my husband is totally on board with all natural birth and at first he wasn't because he didn't wait to see me in pain. If he can't see you in pain then maybe you should consider having someone else in the room as well that can help you and him during the process.

Watch Pregnant in America. It is a true eye opener. My husband wants me to do natural and so do i. The side effects of epidural can be major. My good friend was hospitalized for 3 weeks after issues with the epi. She couldnt spent any time with her newborn, i couldnt imagine that.

I had it and i have back pain everyday now. But i still got it again with my last baby. And im doing it again with the next. Although it could be from the epideral, the back pain could be from just simply having babies.

Go natural! It can be hard but youll feel much better after! When you see your baby for the first time its as if the pain goes away!

I had my son natural and im a wimp lol. I think that if u do it naturally then ud be out of bed quicker too. It all depends on what u can handle. Do some research on the epidural esp a uve had back problems. There are other forms of pain relief if u need it. I understand that ur partner doesnt want to see u in pain lol my husband didnt know what to do to help me. But after he said he was proud of me. That was so nice.  good luck hope everything goes well. X

I've had two epidurals and had no back problems afterwards. I think sometimes the back problems people experience are after- effects of the pregnancy itself, not necessarily the epidural.

I have back pain now since the epidural. I am not getting another one if I don't have to for emergency. Plus I think an epidural is why I had to have a csection because I couldnt feel anything and didn't dilate. If the pain gets too much to bear then get one but I would recommend as long as u can handle it then don't.
