I am a carrier of spinal muscular atrophy. My bf had to be tested since if he was a carrier there was a chance our baby would have it.. luckily my bf is NOT a carrier :) now there is no way the baby will have it. Its such a weight lifted off my chest. Finally some good news :)
We both needed to be a carrier for the baby to have it. Now he/she can only be a carrier which will not effect them. Its a recessive disease so you need 2 carrier parents to get it.
