extreme anemia help please

So I found out last week that I'm anemic again and needed supplements. When I went to my Dr today they informed me that I was on the border of needing a transfusion now my iron is so low and they didn't want to tell me over the phone. I take iron twice a day now and they'll test again before delivery and have blood on stand by. Has anyone ever needed a blood transfusion?? Or has anyone with severe anemia had a healthy delivery? Help :(

My iron got real low during my pregnancy and I was prescribed iron 3x a day but I had time taking because it made me sick. I had a good  delivery but the day after I gave birth I had to receive blood because my levels had dropped really low

Thank you! I was so worried because my iron was better than ever since I got pregnant so that was a downer

I was anemic while pregnant and had to take iron supplements and I had to get 2 blood transfusions. It wasn't bad at all. My delivery was so easy!

If you are taking that many iron supplements I would suggest taking a stool softener like Colace twice daily. Iron can make you severely constipated and it's not fun - much easier to stay on top of that before it gets bad than to treat afterward.
Yes you can have a healthy delivery and a healthy baby - and likely the supplements will help you to get your levels improved. Good luck!

Take chlorophyll. I take it in capsules but they have liquid.  Or floridex idk how to spell it. Those work much faster and better then iron pills.
